prologue
" Bella, you have scoliosis. Here is a doctor I recommend for this." the school nurse announced. I took the yellow paper and went in line to wait for the rest of my class to be checked.
I am a sixth grader at forks middle. They were doing the annual scoliosis check that they started in the fourth grade.
~ at the doctor's office~
" okay, so you are here because the school saw that you had scoliosis, correct?" Dr. Brown asked my mom and I.
" what exactly is scoliosis?" I asked the doctor. " scoliosis is a curvature of the spine. I was wondering if you could stand up and reach to touch your toes so I could show your mother."
I did what he said and he ran his fingers down my spine and explained things to my mom Renee. As he ran his fingers down my spine I realized that it was not straight. ' I wonder when that happened?' I thought.
He gave us a number to set up an appointment with a doctor to see what the curvature degree was and where the curve was. My mom and I headed home.
