Welcome to Inescapable. This is my first fanfic, and I hope you like it.

Summary: A pursued woman, an exotic dancer, her bounty hunter brother, a ruthless businessman, a quirky fashion designer, and an eccentric gardener. What do they have to do with each other? Everything.

She was tall, unlike most of her kind, and plump, not overweight, but plump such that she looked like she escaped from a Botticelli

painting. She carried herself elegantly, more refined than most of them Her features were soft, her hair, normally black an shiny as a

raven's wing, was looking decidedly ratty today, and had lost its healthy sheen. Her eyes were blood red, but not the simple blood red

as of one drop, but of rivers, lakes, seas of blood spilled, and they had a weary look to them one can only acquire when one has seen

that blood spill, be it in battle or in more mysterious locales. She was as white as snow, and if you took a casual glance at her, she

would seem pure, possessing ethereal beauty. But if you examined her closer, you would note the look in her eyes, her hair, the

disrepair of what had surely been fine clothes that were now reduced to rags, and you would come to the conclusion that not only was

she far from pure, but that she was now in some kind of desperate situation, which indeed she was. But even though you came to that

conclusion, you wouldn't help her. Why, you say? Well, two reasons though one would not be able to spot the latter unless one knew

how to read certain signs. One, weary though her eyes were, there was still a glint to them that suggested that not only was she

perfectly capable of handling her self, but also that she wouldn't readily accept help from a complete stranger. Her eyes contained the

sorrow that one only sees in people who have been too trusting and have now paid the price. Two, (I'm going to rattle off

observations of mine before I give you the reason) she had lightning fast reflexes, nearly unparalleled fighting skill, some crude remnants

of great magic, that ethereal beauty, and finally, inch-long fangs concealed in her mouth, that were currently disguised as normal human

teeth. In ancient times, they were known as 'night walkers'. Today she would be a 'vampire'. I know her as Li Meiling. This is her

story.
