A few weeks had passed since the... incident... with his best friend, and Yabuki Hayato was leaving his family's apartment for another day of school. "I'll go by Ryu's today," he decided cheerfully, and he began his trek. It was a pleasant morning, and Hayato was surprised that he was so awake so early.
The walk brought him before the large, white mansion owned by the Odagiri family, and he was granted entrance by a maid. "Ryu," Hayato called upon ascending the stairs. The brunette heard the shower running in the bathroom down the hall and walked into his friend's empty bedroom to wait. Thankfully, Ryu didn't take long showers, so the darker haired boy didn't have to wait long before he heard his friend turn the water off. "That was quick," mused Hayato. A minute later, the bedroom door opened to reveal Odagiri Ryu, water dripping from his soaked hair and coursing down his exposed chest. A towel hung loosely from his hips, soaking the water droplets that dripped down his back.
It was as he walked to the dresser that the redhead noticed his friend. "What are you doing here, Hayato?" asked Ryu.
"I left the house earlier than usual, so I decided to come wait here for you," answered Hayato lazily. Ryu didn't answer verbally, but he knew he had no need to. Hayato usually knew what he was thinking at moments like this.
Keyword being usually.
Out of nowhere, Ryu dropped the towel to slip on a pair of gray boxers, not caring that Hayato was still in the room. "Ryu!" the brunette shrieked. "I'm still in here, you know." Hands flew up to cover his eyes, shielding them from the sight of his undressed friend.
"Again, Hayato?" Ryu deadpanned. He rolled his eyes as he wordlessly pulled on his uniform pants and a button-down shirt. "It's nothing you haven't seen before."
"B-b-b-bu-bu-but-t-t-t-" Hayato stuttered, unable to speak properly, but he didn't get to finish.
"Let's just get to school," interrupted Ryu, tossing the towel he had been using to dry his dripping hair. He walked passed the red-faced Hayato and out the door, leaving his friend behind.
The sound of the door slamming was what drew Hayato out of his embarrassed daze. "Wait up, Ryu!" he shouted before following his best friend.
Once outside and caught up with Ryu, the two boys walked in silence toward their school. Along the way, the copper-haired teenager noticed that his brunette friend was still unusually quiet. "You're going to have to get over it," said Ryu uncaringly.
"I will!" shouted the still-flustered Hayato. He began to pout, which Ryu secretly found a little adorable.
With a snort of laughter, Ryu gave his best friend a little smirk. "Let's just get to class."
