"What more does it want from us? What has it deemed unworthy?" Ghetsis asked impatiently, looking to N as a translator. The newly appointed king remained silent, clutching to his menger sponge when all else was gone. From the rubble that was one of their castle spires, to the endless sea of flames that blanketed the forests beyond ensuring no escape, the soaring angry dragon started launching another attack and N was working through the calculations and miscalculations.

Of course, Ghestis did not understand how their plan failed. Not when their pawn truly believed in the empty promises and lies. How could Resiram possibly see through them? After the first volley of fireballs abruptly rained down from the night sky, the sages and Plasma members were running down the stairs in the chaos. They were not sticking around for the result, further cementing their cowardly nature while leaving N and Ghestis on the balcony to face off the angered legendary.

"The whole world." N's voice was in awe. The cities of his carefully calculated future destroyed along with the bricks and concrete of the plasma castle. Had the Unova skies ever been so bright? "Reshiram, are you really going to burn down the whole world?" The child was talking to an infinitely powerful dragon, trying to understand why he was being scolded. Reshiram's answer was a beyond deafening roar, fire being carried in the wind on the grounds beneath their feet.

"Always." Reshiram spoke gently. If N's ideal world was a world where Pokemon would live separately with humans, Reshiram would always bathe it in flame. "Do you want to know why?"

"Lord Ghetsis, are you ready to evacuate?" The sage Zinzolin asked, no longer concealing his panic as the building was losing its structural integrity.

"It is far too cold."

"Yes." Ghetsis turned away with irritation. "N can no understand longer humans. He will only talk to Pokemon now. Since he will never be able to hear or understand us again, it is only fitting for this defective creature to burn like trash."

"A lonely world dreamed by lonely child."

N stood immobile on the balcony, watching the skies. The sage understood. They damaged N beyond repair so that he was incapable of talking or comprehending any human language again. Most subjects observed that could speak both languages would find trapped forever in silence, losing their tenuous grip on humanity. Since he was no longer alive by Zinzolin's definition, locking the door on him was an easy decision.

It was another unfortunate setback, but Ghetsis had planned and an escape route just in case. So Team Plasma abandoned him in the building where N spent the majority of his life. In the clear skies, Reshiram looked down at the king. Who didn't have long to comprehend being abandoned by everyone at the same moment of having his dreams and life work completely destroyed.

"What should I do now?!" Reshiram's gave an ethereal cry as she flew above the superheated air. She comforted him as the balcony dissolved beneath him. As he lost consciousness, he accepted a new truth that rang through his ears with the explosions.

His prison was gone. He was finally free to decide for himself.
