Prompt-Caskett story based on the song "Wherever you will go"...aka Beckett has died, Castle tries to move on etc.
"I'm sorry" He whispers kissing her forehead hoping she will magically wake up but she doesn't. He kisses her left and right check.
"Always my love" He whispers in her ear.
Rick walks out of the ambulance the man shut the door and take his Kate away.

He comes back to the loft with puffy cheeks and tear stained cheeks his mother and daughter fear for the worst.
"She's gone" Is all he saids.
Martha and Alexis rush over to hug him.

The next day he knocks on Jim's door Kate's captain has already told him about his daughters death but did warn that Rick would be coming over to tell him.
"I'm sorry I'm so sorry I was supposed to protect her" Rick tells him tears rushing down his face.
Jim pulls him into a hug and pats his back.
"It's going to be okay son" He tells him.

He seats up in bed expecting her to come out of the bathroom and cuddled up with him but she doesn't.
He gets flashbacks of the other night when she walked out of the bathroom the other night he was laying on her chest when she walked in and cuddled up on his chest and he stroked her hair and went to sleep on his chest,
Rick picks up her pillow and hold it close to him his nose picking up his scent he kisses the pillow and closes his eyes.

4 years later it seems everyone is moving but him.
Lanie one days sets him up a on a date she doesn't want to see him with someone but she knows it what Kate would have wanted.
"But what if I forget her" He tells her.
"Oh honey you'll never forget her" Lanie said walking over to hug her friend.
"I used to call her honey" He tells Lanie

Tess is her name she has short blonde hair tanned skin and bright green eyes.

Tess is talking about something but all can picture is the date he last had with mind flashback to that night when they danced on the patio and he held her so close then they made love and spend the morning cuddled in each other's arms.

"I saw that you retired from writing" Tess said half way through dinner.
"I just couldn't do it with her"
"Shame I enjoyed your books I was like your number one fan"
"No Kate's my number one fan" He snaps.
"Right sorry" Tess said knowing she shouldn't have said it.
"No I'm sorry I thought I could do this but when I look at you all I see is Kate and I'm having flashbacks about the dates we used to have together"
"I know it's hard" Tess said her hand going to hold his on the top she notices he still has his wedding band on as he slips away his hand.
"I'm sorry" Rick said pushing in his chair and rushing paying half of his bill on the way out.

His running so fast to get to her grave he doesn't noticed the car that hits him.

"Rick" Kate asked in a soft voice.
"Kate" He saids breathless running towards her hugging her.
"Rick what are you doing here?"
"I got hit by a car I was trying to move on but I couldn't I was running to your grave"
"Well we can be together for ever nothing he can tear us apart in the afterlife" He pulls her in for a hug.
He looks over Kate's shoulder to see Johanna. Kate's mother.
"Mrs Beckett" He address her.
Kate pulls out of the hug and introduces Rick to her mother.
"It's so nice to meet you" Johanna shakes his hand.
"It's nice to meet you too"
