She huddled closer to the corner of her wall, squeezing her hand over her mouth in an attempt to keep the tears and sobs quiet. She glanced up through blurry eyes to see her mothers face, forever frozen in a smile. Her warm eyes, which use to look down with love, were crinkled in happiness. Her bright hair framed her beautiful face, the face that she use to look into everyday. The face of her mother, the one she loved with all of her heart.

She stood as she heard her name called and hurried to the bathroom down the hall before anyone could see her. She couldn't let anyone know of her sadness, she had to be strong. For everyone. For herself.

In no time, she was walking down the stairs, a grin brightening her face. Her tears, once more, hidden. Kyo was the first to see her coming down the stairs, she watched as his eyes softened before he frowned and yelled at Yuki, whom was waiting at the table for her. He gave a gentle smile as she waved a little before moving immediately into the kitchen to begin making breakfast and lunch and dinner.

"Aa, my little flower! You look as lovely as ever my dear!" she blushed and immediately begin shaking her head as Shigure began spouting compliment after compliment. He chuckled as he headed out of the kitchen, sighing something about his lovely flower. The blush was still on her face when she left the kitchen, food piled high in her arms and lost in her own little world. She snapped out of it as Yuki's voice broke through the daze.

"Tohru, are you all right? You look a little tired. Maybe you should stay home."

"Oh, no! I couldn't! Mother wouldn't want me to miss school for something like being tired! I have to do my best! I ha-" He cut her off, like most people usually did these days when she got into her rants about school and what her mother would've wanted.

"I know, Tohru. I just don't want you to get sick." And then he smiled, his eyes crinkling slightly around the edges as he looked down at her. Her breath caught in her throat as she was once more reminded of his handsomeness, the handsomeness of his whole family. She was once more stunned at the reality that these same, beautiful people were the ones that brought her into their home, gave her a place to live when she had nothing else. She smiled brightly up at him.

"Hey, stop smiling' at that stupid rat! I'm hungry!" She only looked over to Kyo, a smile still planted firmly on her face. She could never be angry with any of them. They were all so good to her, and she owed them so much. She walked over to Kyo quickly and gently laid out the food on the table in front of him, large smile still on her face. She sat down across from Kyo as Yuki sat beside her, Shigure across from him and beside Kyo.

She smiled at her happy little family as they bickered. She couldn't wish for anything else, she never wanted to forget them, she was happy exactly where she was. She closed her eyes and saw her mothers happy, frozen face.

'Oh mom, I miss you so much. But I'm happy where I am. Can you see me? Can hear them? I think things are starting to look up again mom. I love you.'

A/N: Ok, first of all, I've only seen the first 26 anime episodes, I've never read the manga. If anyone knows where I can find more of the episodes or a website where I can read the story, that would be great! Any ways, I hope you all enjoyed!
