So this is an older fic of mine. No updates (sorry). I was reading some fics and saw they had been told song lyrics are not allowed so I went ahead and took them out of mine. This story( if you have not previously read it) had embedded lyrics from the song All of Me. If you can try to imagine listening to it while you read because it adds so much to the story.

WARNING! YOU MAY CHOCK ON ALL THE EMOTIONAL FLUFF IN THE CHAPTER.

Fitz POV (This IS FORSHADOWING OR FUTURE OR WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL IT THIS IS NOT PRESENT TIME! THIS IS LIKE, LOOK INTO THE INPENDING INTERSPECIES WAR, EVERYTHING MR FORKLE HAS NOT EXPLAINED YET, ALL THE FIGHTING AND POSSIBLY DEATHS, AND GO A LITTLE BIT FURTHER.)

It was true, he knew that now. He was completely and entirely in love with Sophie. In the short amount of time they had known each other, she had stolen his heart, and he was not particularly inclined to try and take it back.

She was a mystery only he understood, he was a puzzle only she could solve.

Every second without her felt like he was drowning, every moment with her was like floating on air.

The recent year had scarred them both, inside and out. The world had changed, they had changed. They were broken, but they were broken together.

Some might say they were doomed from the start. Some might say it was hopeless. That the war they had just fought together had taken too high of a toll. But in his eyes, she was still perfect. She was a flawless angel.

It was true, their past was painful and their future uncertain. Every day there was a new battle. But every night there was a new hope. Sophie's own life was on the line in each battle, each fight made the possibility of her death even more real. But that was why they had to love now, so much deeper and so much realer than most people their age. Their lives had aged them prematurely, the impending future mellowed them. But if there was one good thing, one tiny ray of light in the ocean of darkness, it was that they had found each other.

They were together and that's all that mattered.

It never stopped for her. Her life was like the emotional trash can of the universe and the dumping spot for every conceivable hardship. His heart hurt for her, if he could take even a fraction of her pain away he would. He would bear it all if it was within his power. But he had to stand by and watch as she was ripped away from multiple homes and families, betrayed by those she trusted and abandon by her closest friends. He had to watch as she was used as a pawn in the biggest war he had ever seen, as the burdens placed on her small shoulders wore her down.

Some people though he had lost the part of himself that individualized his life beyond her, but that was not true. He did have a life beyond her, one that did not revolve around her axis. But it did not make sense to go to that place when he would be leaving behind his better half. Everything was just better with her around.

Their love may be a bit broken, a bit hard, but it was theirs.

Every time he was upset, she was there. They supported each other though the good and the bad. She made the good seem amazing, the bad not quite so bleak.

Even through the war, through the pain and the suffering and the loss, their love would endure.

He knew he loved her. In a world of uncertainty, that was one thing that would never change. She had his heart in the palm of her hand, but that didn't matter. His heart was her's to break. Always.
