Inuyasha no mine!!! I would like to have him for a friend though, borrow his Tetsusiaga, sometime, maybe. Likewise Lady Kagome no mine neither. Oh well, Most of us lowly fanfic writers have nothing better to do. Inspired by fan art at www-Holymango-net/inufanart97-html, Enjoy!

A Moment of Time
By D Seer

"So what are you gonna do, huh?!" I yelled down to her. "Tell me to SIT?!"

Her face dropped from mine, but her jaw set itself. I turned away. I heard her again, but she wasn't walking away. I turned to look at the trunk as she climbed onto a branch next to mine.

I blinked, and frowned, then turned away.

She arranged herself like me, legs stretched out along the branch, and we just sat there for a while.

"Of all the people, in my time or in yours, why did it have to be you, Inuyasha?"

"How in the #e!! would I know." I said bitterly.

"We can't tolerate each other, We approach almost everything differently, and yet, there is no one I would rather have by my side more than you. Even when you cast aside your fathers fang. You scare me when you do that, you know. and yet, I have absolute faith in you... no matter how you are, what shape you are in.

"Tell me to go away, and I will. but I'll also come back." She got up from her branch and jumped over to mine a little way down from me. "You are a part of me, Inuyasha. Talk to me, please."

"Why?" I ground it. She only crawled over to me, and sat in my lap, wrapping her arms around me. "What are you doing?"

"Tell me to go away." She said, digging her head into my chest.

I wrapped my arms around her, and laid back against the trunk. "You know I can't do that." I said as she began to cry.

"Why me?" I asked softly. "Why you?" I added as she began to drop off.

Because, she said in my mind, Your mine, and me? Because I'm yours. I nodded, and laid my head against hers and followed her to a place we could be together.

Shippo walked outside the house, and exactly three moments later, came back in, poking Sango. She finally got up, and was dragged outside. Five moments later, Shippo came back in, asked, "Kaede?" Then pulled me outside.

Sango stood with her jaw dropped as she looked up a tree. Shippo wasn't helping, just pointing to said tree.

I walked up to the tree, and looked into it's limbs.

Inuyasha lay back against the trunk, his over robe draped around Kagome who sat curled up on his lap. I smiled, and, taking Shippo and Sango each by the wrist, took them back inside my home.

Miroku stirred; "Where were you all?"

"Go back to sleep Lord Monk. Moments of Peace are rare, are they not?"

He nodded, and rolled over.
