"All is right in the world," Danny contemplated, as he lay down in his room. It cannot be denied that the events from the last few days have been chaotic, to say the least. Still, things had turned out for the better.
Ever since the Disasteroid incident, there were many changes. Mainly, his parents had accepted him for who he is. No more sneaking out of the house (except when meeting Sam), and definitely no more lies. Ghost hunting had also become easier, with his parents shoving the ghost back into the ghost zone whenever he was busy. Making up with Valerie also helped too. Now, it is not uncommon to see Phantom and the Red Huntress patrolling together. The ghosts were also not too hard to fight, with the Fruit-loop out of the picture. Even Skulker cut down on the whole "I will have your pelt" business.
And then there's Sam. Sam, with her hypnotising lavender eyes that never failed to captivate him. Sam, with her pragmatic attitude that never fails to bore him. Sam, who never failed to stand up for him, no matter whatever happened. Sam, whom he finally admitted his feelings for. He could not have wished for a better girlfriend.
Everything was perfect…
… as I laughed evilly. The halfa's dreams were tantalising, truly the best ones that I have tasted. Day by day, I can feel my strength growing, increasing, until nothing could possibly stand in my way. Pariah Dark himself could not lay a blow on me, not now.
Yes, it was ingenious to let that foolish child believe that he had freed everyone. Let him think that I was defeated, so he wouldn't suspect a thing, or put up any resistance. Let him live in his perfect little world.
Still, I have to give him some credit for his vivid imagination. Think about it. What are the chances that an ectoranium asteroid would crash into the Earth? That all the ghosts, an uncompromising bunch, would actually work together? That Clockwork himself did not foresee this?
