Disclaimer: I do no own Shingeki no Kyojin
Patiently waits for Annie to move from crystal stasis.
Her body is icy cold.
Eren had forgotten how warm her body used to be when she pressed herself against him. His fingers trailed onto the hard surface of the crystal in a vain attempt to touch her. His thumb brushed against the crystal where her face is to wipe away the crystallised tears on her pale cheeks but it is of no use. A solid fortress that encased her inside prevents him from reaching her; a wall that isolates her from the rest of the world.
"Hey, Annie? Why did you kill these people…?"
Eren is confused. Mainly towards her judgement and justification towards humanity. What did the people who lead a life peacefully within the walls ever did to her? Amidst his line of thoughts, he could vividly remember the loneliness hidden in form of malice of her words; the frightened look in her eyes that pleaded Eren to save her. What could she possibly be afraid of?
The tremor building inside her stumbled its way out and she had been intent on fulfilling her purpose when she had been foolish enough to participate in a gamble. A risky gamble that could've cost her life if she's not careful back then. Death was awfully generous on letting her soul flicker but her freedom was bartered instead for the hundreds of lives she had snuffed out from their crumpled bodies.
No matter what sin Annie have committed, the brunet can never hate her nor despise her existence. Is it because of some sort of attachment and lingering affection linked them together just like what Mikasa said to him?
He shook his head fervently and walked away from her with wistful steps. His boots clacked against the floor and the sound echoed throughout the empty dungeon. He slipped in his hood to hide his face from public view, barely facing a subjugation of his death. While that, he contemplated and decided that he knows one thing for sure.
The both of them are just tormented souls that don't belong to either of the two worlds; neither a human nor a titan. Deep inside their hearts they know that they yearn to be human again.
