I was pretty sad to hear about Eileen's death from last week's episode, so I wanted to write my version of how Sam felt.
Spoilers from 11x11 Into the Mystic, 12x17 The British Invasion, and 12x21 There's Something About Mary.
I own… wait, what do I own?

Of all the hunters Sam had learned had been mysteriously killed, there was only one that stunned him the most: Eileen Leahy. True, she was an effective hunter, but she was also deaf. She didn't deserve to go down like that.
As he and Dean started the investigation, he couldn't help but trace back to when they first met at that retirement home. Being deaf, she had thought the brothers were working for the banshee she was trying to kill, until Sam convinced her otherwise. Eileen killed the banshee while it was trying to kill Dean, and later, she and Sam promised they would see each other again.
Sure enough, Sam and Dean had invited her to help them find Kelly Kline, with help from British Men of Letters Mick and Renny. But it all went south when Eileen tried to kill Dagon with the Colt, but she disappeared and the bullet ended up killing Renny. She felt bad after, and Sam tried to convince her that it was all a mistake.
And now she was dead, due to a mysterious circumstance. And this wasn't the first time. Most of the women he'd fallen in love with had died. Jess, Madison, Ruby, Sarah. It's as though he's not meant to have a woman in his life.
At the morgue, as Sam looked at Eileen's still body, with some tears in his eyes, he made one silent vow:
"I'm sorry, Eileen. I promise I will avenge you."
