This is my entry for the Black Family Challenge, by watermeloneyes. I must admit, before this, I never knew the great length J.K. Rowling had gone to in making and creating her world. It'll be very interesting to see how I do. This may just be a little over a drabble.

My prompt is: "I assure you, we'll investigate this matter further."

Title: Insanity

Rating: T

Summary: Removing a painting from a wall isn't always an easy task.

Characters: Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and a painting of Pollux Black

Insanity

"I curse my mother to the deepest pits of hell for this!" Sirius Black shouted, trying once again to pry the painting of his relative off the wall. The Order would be arriving any day now and all these talking, screaming, unhappy relatives plastered to the wall had to go.

"I assure you, we'll investigate this matter further." the painting spoke. Pollux Black had lost most of his sanity a few years before his death. When Sirius's mother realized he was about to depart from the world, she had had this painting made. The depiction of the man was just as batty as the man himself had been.

"Shut up, geezer!" Sirius yelled now, casting another useless spell to try and rid himself of the hidious item. Pollux just chuckled, his voice gruff and amused.

"Ooh, Sirius..." he said now, his voice going woeful and weepy. Sirius stepped back, his face irritated and his mind reeling at how to do this. "You know... Your mother was once a lovely woman..." Pollux continued, grinning like the madman he was. "I can't for the life of me figure out what happened to her!" he said suddenly.

Remus, who was coming around the corner, eyed Sirius wistfully. Sirius, having found this comment rather amusing, was bent over at the waist, tears streaming down his eyes as silently laughter racked his body. "Are you alright?" Remus asked him, patting him on the back.

Pollux was cackling again, going on about some exploding toilet needing fixing. "I assure you, we'll investigate this matter further!" he said once more, talking to someone that wasn't even there. Sirius stood up straight, wiping his eyes and smiling at the old man.

"I don't think we should get rid of this one." he decided happily. He would enjoy the amusement to come.
