The exams were over and a group of Slytherins sat in the shadow of a tree close to the great lake. Daydreaming lazily.

"I'm bored", Evan Rosier sighed.

Severus rolled his eyes: "You're always bored". He'd heard Rosier utter those words a million times and was really getting tired of it.

"That's because you're all boring", the boy countered.

"Shut up Evan", Barty said, looking up from the paper with exam questions he'd been focused on until then.

Rosier looked at Barty and snorted: "Afraid daddy will be mad if you have a question wrong?"

"Smart", Snape whispered sarcastically. Though he kept his eyes on Barty, knowing the boy could turn his anger on him if he heard him say something.

The others fell silent. Looking between Rosier and Crouch.

"If you dare open your mouth…"

"Than what?"

"Silencio". Rosier moved his lips, but no words came out. Barty stalked closer to Evan, who opened and closed his mouth like a fish out of the water.

"You know", Barty drawled. "I'd like to see your reaction to the cruciatus curse, but", he paused for a second, "I think I've got something funnier in mind". A crooked grin appeared on his face.

He slowly raised his wand, making a show of it, and pointed it at the panicking Rosier.

"Barty stop", Regulus interfered.

The Slytherin turned around to look at his friend. "You never let me have fun, Reg", the boy pouted. His sad expression soon became a grin as he focused back on Rosier. He pricked the tip of his wand against Evan's chest and performed the counterspell to the silencing charm. "I rather hear you when I curse you".

"Please. I didn't mean it. Please Barty", the young wizard begged, fear in his voice.

Barty grinned, mischievousness in his eyes, and executed a nonverbal spell, wanting the maximum surprise in his victim. Said victim started laughing uncontrollably; grabbed his stomach and giggled and grinned and laughed.

The other Slytherins watched dumbfounded. They'd expected Barty to kill the poor idiot.

The wizards were pulled from their thoughts when they heard Barty laugh. "You really thought I'd do something horrible to him didn't you". He sat back against the tree. "Now you're not bored, right Evan?"

They all joined the laughter.
