Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter and if I did I wouldn't have let Sirious and Dumbledore die, so don't get mad at me...
It's been 15 years since i was last at Hogwarts. I never would have expected it to change this much.
It seems so much smaller but that's probably due to my new not the damage that was done to it. The lake is just as large but the giant squid is nowhere near as fearsome.
Alot has changed.
After I helped defeat Voldemort I disappeared from the face of the earth. Unlike a lot of you thought I didn't leave Hogwarts and marry the love of my life. And no I did not have an illegitimate child.
It's been just me for the past 15 year. After the Dark Lords downfall I ran to the Americas hoping to avoid the stares and I succeeded. At least I thought so until a month or so ago.
It was 15 years to the day of Voldemorts defeat when Albus asked me to teach DADA. I accepted never expecting to see her again.
I arrived in the Great Hall during the feast. Dumbledore had announced that I would be there before the feast began. As I walked down the rows between the House tables I noticed the stares I was getting. Then I was sidetracked once again because I only had eyes for her. Her beautiful red hair glimmered in the lights of the Great Hall.
Her eyes to were drawn to the scar on my forehead. Just like everyone else's... but she looked at me with a sadness and a hope in her eyes that no one else did.
She was my Ginny.
She sat at the Head Table and next to her was the only empty seat. I sat down and the room quieted. The old, fading headmaster stood.
"Please welcome your new professor."
It was met by a standing ovation.
Ginny and I spent the rest of the evening talking. First we talked about pleasant things such as Ron and Hermione. Then about her family, who had gotten married and who was single. Finally we talked about where I had been and what I had done lately. As the feast ended Dumbledore asked her to show me to my room. She agreed and we slowly exited the deathly silent Hall.
"Ginny did you miss me?" I asked in my now husky voice.
"Of course, why wouldn't I, love?" she replied quietly.
"I thought you might have moved on dear, that's all."
That night I asked her to stay with me. She agreed, pleased.
(AN- It's not what you think so get your mind out of the gutter.)
We were lying on the couch and I had my head in her lap as traced the sideways 'w' scar on my forehead. As i lay there she whispered into my ear.
"I love you Neville."
AN- As I said earlier not everything is as it seems. Please review and let me know what you think...
