I should be posting an update for Guarding Tsuna but this plot bunny wouldn't go away until I wrote it down and posted it. Please be patient with me readers! I promise to continue that story soon! Anyway, 'til then, please read this and review! The main character in love with Tsuna in this fic is a mystery! I'm figuring he's either a Guardian or a Varia member. Hmm…who could it be?
Disclaimer: I do not own Reborn or its characters…shucks.
Warning: Shonen-ai (boys in love)
Pairing: Unknown male (you decide!) x Tsuna
What Tsuna Didn't Know
The tenth leader of the Vongola family, Sawada Tsunayoshi, was completely oblivious to a lot of things. One such thing was the silent affection of a fellow mafia member…someone he had known for many years. This person had to deal with bouts of jealousy, anger, frustration, and sadness because of his unfortunate feelings for the thick-headed brunette but he dealt with it as best as he could. He never planned to tell Tsuna because he felt it would make no sense to leave his heart out in the open only to be destroyed by a "gentle" rejection. The worst part would be the awkwardness which would follow since they still had to work together.
The poor soul watched the cute boy mature and endure many trials as he became a formidable mafia head and was amazed by his strength, courage, and honesty. His love for Tsuna grew stronger every day and it often got to the point where being in the same room as him was maddening. He was drowning even though he wasn't under water and sometimes he wished he could just sink to the bottom of the ocean and never surface again. But he snapped out of such gloomy thoughts at the sound of Tsuna's warm voice and had to hold back a smile. Tsuna may not have known it, but he gave him the will to go on.
The only times he felt truly happy and at peace were when he was busy with work and couldn't think of Tsuna or while getting a decent rest. He loved letting his imagination run wild as he slept and was able to love Tsuna freely in his dream world. The best part was that Tsuna always returned that love. However, when reality smashed that world as he woke up, he sighed at the taste of salty tears which had come down without his knowledge. If he were a weaker man he would give in to the urge to sob for a long while, but he refused to allow it. He didn't have time for weakness when he had his job (and Tsuna) waiting for him.
He spent his days surrounded by danger and chaos but always put all of his energy into getting things done quickly and efficiently. Every now and then he would have a flicker of longing to confide in someone about his feelings but would squash it as he looked around and realized he couldn't talk to any of his group. It was too personal and he wasn't exactly friends with them. They were co-workers and allies…nothing more. He just needed to focus on helping Tsuna. Tsuna would never know and he had to accept that. But every time he saw that beautiful smile, he found himself sinking deeper. And as he prepared for another night of dreams of a happy life with Tsuna, he reminded himself that he would take this secret to the grave, even if it was at the bottom of the ocean.
And so, Tsuna never found out that the person he was secretly in love with actually felt the same way. They spent the rest of their lives not knowing and having to content themselves with dreams of what would never come to be.
Sniff. Another sad one shot! What is my issue these days? So which guy do you picture this being? Let me know in a review please.
