Now without further ado, "A Missing Scar!"

Prologue

Lily looked up as she heard her wonderful husband enter the room.

"Did you hear about the poor Longbottoms?" Lily Potter asked her husband, James.

"I know. I can't believe it! Such talented Aurors, too. Rumor has it their son Neville survived, but only barely. He supposedly destroyed Lord Voldemort, and escaped with just a lighting bolt shaped scar on his head." James replied sadly.

Lily sighed and sat back, holding her son Harry in her arms. She began to rock him slowly. "I wonder if Tuney has heard about any of this?" she thought absentmindedly.

"Why do you care?" James asked roughly. "She's always horrible to you."

"Honey, if Petunia knows, that means all the Muggles would know that something is up, what with all the owls flying around and stuff," Lily explained patiently.

"You're right, as usual," James relented. "I hope we get to hear the tru-"

Suddenly there was a knock at the door of the cottage.

"Who is it?" James called warily, his wand in hand. Lily stood bravely next to him, also holding her wand.

"It is I, Dumbledore, headmaster of Hogwarts and Secret Keeper of the Order of the Phoenix." a voice called.

"You may enter, Dumbledore," James said in relief. The door opened to admit a tall, thin man with a pointed hat, long black robes, long white silvery hair and a beard, and piercing blue eyes.

Lily spoke from the chair. "Dumbledore, is- is it true?" she asked with fear in her voice.

"Yes, it is true, my dear Lily. Neville's grandmother will raise him now," Dumbledore replied sadly. "I must go. School starts in a month, and there are certain things I must, ah, discuss with some of the teachers and parents. Goodbye. Stay safe."

"Goodbye, Dumbledore!" Lily and James called. After he had gone they turned to look at their son. He seemed more special than ever at that moment, and they both silently vowed to always protect their son Harry, whatever the cost.

A/N: So, what do you think? Let me know in the reviews! :D
