The championship! They won the championship. He scored the winning basket and he felt on top of the world. He looked for that person that one and only person he wanted to share all his dreams with, which he wanted to share this moment with. As the team celebrated Lucas Scott scanned the area for her. He heard his name being called and he turned to see Brooke Davis approaching. She congratulated him and hugged him. Once he had her in his arms, he knew this was his chance. "I love you" he said. "What?" she asked. The crowd was going crazy, she could barely hear herself. "I love you, Pretty Girl," this time he shouted and this time she heard him. He kissed her and she melted but before she could respond Nathan came between them lifting his brother in the air and then the whole team was surrounding them.

Brooke stood back with her pregnant friend Haley and marveled in the team's win. They were joined by Peyton who was wearing the biggest grin. "That look says more then state championship. Give it up P. What's got you grinning?" "Jake's back", she said tears springing to her eyes. Jake was the only guy Peyton was ever in love with. "He just showed up, he was granted full custody yesterday and he's here with Jenny." Jake walked up with Jenny in tow and Jenny leaped into Peyton's arms. Haley and Brooke greeted Jake and the girls noticed Jake wore the same goofy grin plastered on Peyton. Jake kissed Peyton and ran onto the floor eager to celebrate with his former team mates.

Brooke shared with her friends what Lucas had said and the girls squealed. Brooke never really wanted to break-up with Lucas, she was sad and disappointed in him and Peyton, but she never stopped loving him. They went their separate ways for a few weeks, said hurtful things to one another but they still loved each other. She and Peyton mended their friendship; Brooke came to understand what happened that unfortunate day of the school shooting. She couldn't blame them anymore; she accepted their friendship and wanted Lucas back and she knew now he too wanted what they had back.

The wait outside the boy's locker room seemed the longest ever. Nathan was the first to come out, he took Haley by the hand and called to Brooke over his shoulder "we're all going to TRIC." Brooke nodded and Peyton and Jake agreed to put Jenny down for the night at his parent's house before joining them.

Left alone Brooke watched as one by one each of the guys exited the locker room. The arena was now empty and Brooke was impatient. She charged the room and found Lucas in front of his locker. He looked at Brooke not at all surprised to see her in the boy's locker room. "I got worried, you forgot your way back," she said first, with a smile on her face. "Now I thought we were just beginning to find our way back." Luke responded grabbing her by the waist and brining her close. "I'm sorry Brooke, I can't stand thinking back, the things I said, I'm so sorry. You have to know that although I said them, I didn't mean them. I was just trying to hurt you because I was hurt. It was childish and I should have fought instead of letting you walk away." Brooke kissed him first and then spoke "I'm sorry Luke, I should have fought too. I will never walk away again. I will always fight for us. You were right you are the guy for me Lucas Scott." They kissed and time seemed to stop.

As they walked across the court, Lucas stopped and looked around. This was it, his last game; he would probably never play competitive basketball again. With his girlfriend in one hand and the game ball in the other, he left the arena to meet up with their friends.
