Two weeks, five days, 14 hours and 8 minutes.
That's how long Calypso has been waiting. She tried not to count, not to hope, because hope was useless. She knew Leo wouldn't, couldn't, come back. But nevertheless, she had ticked off the days on the calender, going by when she sleeps for one day, since time was different in Ogygia. The rest she was just guessing, but who knew, it could be accurate. Calypso had spent her days as normally as she could, but there was always one thing on her mind, one thing that could always distract her-Leo. She realized, eventually, that she missed his bickering, missed the sound of his hammer ringing in the distance, missed the way he could always annoy her. There was always the contant thought of him, pulsating at the back of her mind, daring to hope. She always thought of Calypso and Leo's Repair Shop, which led her to think of that day. She would always then wipe her eyes with the palms of her hands, suddenly unbearably sad.
Your little hero cannot rescue you. He will never return. A soft, sleepy voice called, breaking her out of her reverie. Calypso knew that voice well. It had tortured her all this time, sowing doubt into her brain.
"Gaea, LEAVE!" Calypso ran out of her cave, making sure the goddess was gone from her mind. And then she ran straight into him. "Leo," she whispered.
He laughed uncomfortably. "Told you I'd-" Calypso cut him off with a kiss, the second one Leo had received-ever. He leaned in and grabbed he back of her head, instinct taking over. They were both out of breath and a little flushed when they kissed, but they kept on kissing. I guess a few weeks could feel like a lifetime. Calypso caressed the back of his neck as Leo held onto her cheeks. Calypso tightened her arms around his neck and reluctantly moved her head to the side, hugging him with all her might, eyes closed tight and little bits of water threatening to come to the surface.
"Leo," she whispered again, in disbelief. "You stupid, amazing, wonderful little-" she said something in Greek that roughly translates to "Dumb-ass." He laughed softly again, not sure how to respond. "But how? There's no way on Ogygia but by the god's will? Oh no, please don't tell me-"
"No, no, no." Leo shut Calypso up with a light kiss on the cheek, separating them for a second. "I'm not that stupid. Remember the crystal that I asked you for when..." Calypso nodded. "Good. Well, turns out your buddy boy Odysseus made a little astrolabe that leads you here, but all you need is a bit of that crystal to make it work."Leo held Calypso at arm length now, scanning her up and down. His eyebrows raised when he saw that she still wore jeans and a T-shirt, and still wore them well. He looked into her caramel eyes, and hugged her tight again. "Now," Leo said with a tone of finality. "Lets get you out of here and we can open up Calypso and Leo's Repair Shop, shall we?" He offered her his arm, which she took, and they walked towards the beach, where a little boat sat, waiting to take them home.
"Don't think this changes anything," Calypso said pointedly. "I still hate you."
"Yeah sure," Leo replied with a grin and kissed her on the cheek. Calypso blushed, and was surprised to do so, then shrugged slightly and leaned her head on Leo's shoulder.
Don't get too comfy, he reminded himself. She's immortal, and way out of your league. But he grinned and lead Calypso to their cruise back home.
