Prologue
Slave Quarters.
Amber eyes opened slowly, the sensation of lying on something hard and smooth, having stirred the man into consciousness. Taking a moment to collect his bearings, the man slowly moved to sit up, only to stop as he suddenly was aware of the two sleeping bodies resting against his chest. Gently wrapping an arm around the toddlers, the man took the time to take in his surroundings.
He was resting in an empty stone room. A hallway to his left seemed to go deeper into the structure and a metal door sat some distance to his right. It took him a few minutes to slowly get to his feet, though once he was properly standing. He walked towards the door, watching it slide open without a sound.
Stepping out onto a little balcony, the man was greeted by a somewhat chilly evening and the stars. Letting his eyes scour the heavens. He didn't have to search long to know none of the constellations in the darkness above him were familiar. Shifting the toddlers so he had one held in each arm, the man inhaled the warm dry air and shook his head.
Turning around, he walked back inside to lay the twin toddlers on the make-shift cot he'd been previously occupying for an unknown amount of time. Once the two were safely wrapped in the worn looking blanket, did the man look up at the ceiling. A slightly amused smile stretching over his face as his eyes flared gold and he shook his head softly.
"Of course you're behind this. Only you would give us a second chance." The man closed his eyes, chuckling softly. "I know everything's hard on you. And I know you did this to protect us from whatever's coming. Just… stay in touch this time, will ya, dad?" The man inhaled softly.
"I will try. Take care of them, Gabriel. They need you as much as they need the new life. I apologize, that the life you will live now… is not what you'd prefer. But I hope you will make the best of it." There was a pause, with which Gabriel patiently waited. "The Force has accepted you and your new charges as prime Jedi material. Just do what you're good at and everything will, eventually get better."
Gabriel nods to the air, letting his eyes slowly open as the connection between him and his father was cut off. Lifting a hand, the growing silence was broken by the snap of fingers. Soon the house was modestly furnished and Gabriel was going to learn what his new life entailed and how to work with it.
The first thing on his list, however, was to get the two toddlers tucked up in bed, where they can properly sleep and he can begin to explore their new home.
