"Mizuki!" Hime called cheerfully, waving.
"Congrats, Hime," he smiled. He waved at her from the bench he was sitting on.
"Thanks," she giggled, sitting next to him. "I'm really happy! It still feels like a dream..."
"I'm invited, right?" he asked.
"Of course!" Hime replied, grinning. "I'd never forget you!"
"I'm sure you'll look just like your name," Mizuki told her, smiling warmly. "Just like a princess."
"Oh, I don't know," she laughed. "I'm never going to be that pretty."
"You already are, Hime," he said.
Hime laughed. "So you say." She glanced at her watch. "Oh! I have to go! See you, Mizuki!"
She quickly hugged him being running off.
Mizuki felt her gently pull away from his hands, and watched her run away. He smiled sadly.
It still feels like a dream, she had said, he thought a bit sadly. I wish it was.
She was running away from his grasp.
He watched Hime smile. The smile she never showed anyone else.
Ah, well, Mizuki told himself, seeing her smile is the best.
He stood up and brushed himself off, walking away from Hime.
You better be careful, he thought as an internal message to the receiver. He knew it would never reach them. That was the point. Don't you dare lose her...
He quickly glanced back at Hime. Then he looked at the person beside her. The one she loved instead of him.
...Senri Kudou, her betrothed.
