Summary: Saki's sweet smile always cheers Renn up.
Renn sighed as he looked over the cookbook. This new recipe was frustrating, and he had been trying all morning to get it just right… and it wasn't coming out as he'd hoped.
"Just correct, my foot." He muttered, sighing and flopping into a chair. He was going to get it right, but it seemed a long time coming.
"Renn!" Saki called, coming into the room, a big smile on her face. "How is that muffin recipe coming?"
"I can't seem to get it right." Renn admitted. "I mean, how hard can it be to get a recipe for lemon poppy seed muffins right?"
"You're getting too worked up over this." Saki scolded, still smiling. "Smile, smile! You'll get it right!"
"Smile, smile?" Renn asked. He'd always liked this cheerful sweetness of Saki, but he wasn't sure if it would help him get the muffins right.
"Yes!" She pulled his lips up into a semi-forced smile. "Smile, smile! If you approach it with a smile, you'll get it right!"
Renn nodded slowly. He'd tried everything else. "Smile, smile." He then turned away from Saki and attacked the muffin recipe with a newfound optimism. He made sure to smile the whole time, surprised by how much it lifted his spirits.
45 minutes later, he placed a cooled muffin and a glass of milk in front of Saki. "Here. Try it."
Saki took a bite and her smile grew bright. "Mmmm… delicious! Renn, you did it. See? I told you smiling would help!"
Renn chuckled and sat down to take a bite of another muffin. "You were right." He winked at her. "Smile, smile!"
