"Ah, it seems a wild America has appeared," Belarus stated calmly as an all-too-familiar superpower (or, as he'd call himself, superhero) attempted to sneak up on her, not even bothering to look up from her book.
"Dude, did you just reference Pokemon?" America asked, grinning as he rested his chin atop his girlfriend's head. "I didn't even know you knew of it!"
"I use Pikachu in Super Smash Brothers, remember?"
"Oh, yeah. Forgot about that."
Finally, Belarus turned her attention from her book to America, glancing upwards to lock eyes with him. "What is it, America?"
"Aw, I can't just come over to be by my girlfriend?"
Belarus just stared at him, unconvinced. After a few moments of stare-down, America sighed. "Fine, you win. I was gonna suggest we skip this stupid meeting and go hang out."
One of Belarus' eyebrows raised in mild disbelief. "This is a World Conference, America."
"Yeah, I know."
"They won't be happy."
"Oh yeah, I know. England gave me a two-hour lecture the last time I skipped."
Belarus couldn't stop herself from smiling at that. She remembered that time. England had been positively fuming through the entire meeting. "So why on Earth would you want to do it again?"
"Because I want to spend the day with my hot, wonderful girlfriend instead of sit around in a boring meeting where nothing will be accomplished?"
Belarus' cheeks flushed slightly at that comment. "How do you know nothing will be accomplished?"
"Bel, when have we ever accomplished something at a World Conference?" America pointed out. He started to carefully massage her shoulders. "C'mon, Bel! Let out that wild, delinquent side you've been hiding all this time and play some hooky with me!"
Belarus rolled her eyes, but the grin didn't fade from her face. "Tell you what, America…"
"Yeah…?"
"We'll sit in the meeting…"
"Aw, c'mon…!"
Belarus quickly silenced her boyfriend by pressing a finger to his lips. "…We'll sit in the meeting, make it through the parts we have to be here for, then make an excuse to leave."
America's face lit up in a bright grin. "And not come back?"
"And not come back."
Shifting so he was beside her, he pressed a quick kiss to her cheek. "You know I love you, right?"
"You only say it about a thousand times a day. And that's not counting text messages."
Chuckling, America kissed her one last time, then left for his seat, winking at her as he went. "Don't keep this bad boy waiting, Bel. I'm looking forward to our escape."
Smiling wryly, Belarus slowly shook her head, resuming from where she left off in her book.
The things she'd do for her boyfriend…
