Loke x Lucy Short One Shot

_ AngeL .. † 020512 †

It had been a successful mission though most of them had had major injuries such as Natsu having a broken leg and arm, Gray's torso all covered with bandages and even Erza had also broke a few ribs. But what worries Lucy the most is not Happy's broken paw but Loke's being too weak after shielding her from a deadly virus thrown by one their enemies. The virus was meant to gradually kill a person by damaging him internally but since Loke is a spirit it had a different effect on him. Good thing though, it's not meant to kill him unlike its real purpose but instead it makes him lose all his strengths and he was even unable to return to the Spirit World.

"You should let him stay at your place Lucy, until he fully recovered." Master Makarov orders after checking Loke. "The virus will only affect him for three days so the day after tomorrow he might be able to return to the Spirit World."

They were so glad to hear that so Lucy helped his weakened lion to her apartment.

On the way, Loke can't help but feel pity on himself since he was the leader of the zodiac and also supposed to be the strongest; and on his owner. "I'm sorry, Lucy…" he turned at her.

The blond mage can't help but notice the guilt in her lion's eyes so she smiled despite the pain because well, she also had injuries during the fight and carrying someone at least three times her weight added to her body pain. "I'm the one who should say that," she answered sadly. "It was my fault after all."

Loke smirked from her remarks. "What are you saying? You did not call me that time; I came on my own will. Besides it would make me feel awful if I can't save my princess. After all, I promised to be your knight in shining armor." Lucy blushed a little and smiled but her eyes are sad as she gaze on her feet.

When she finally reached the door of her apartment she was already almost dragging Loke and herself because for goodness sake he's too heavy! Lucy put him down on the bed and made sure that he's comfortable. "I'll just sleep on the couch," she thought. After which, she proceeded to take a bath and treat her own wounds.

She then started preparing dinner after checking on Loke who was watching her every action. He was lying on the bed with his back but his head is tilted on the side so he could see her clearly across the room. When dinner's ready, Lucy helped her lion to eat and after washing the dishes she checked again on Loke.

The handsome lion was now asleep and the full moon was shining brightly from the open window on his regal face. Loke was really, really, so handsome even while asleep and the celestial mage can't help but admire his beauty. "No wonder you're popular," she told the sleeping spirit again. She remembered telling him this before, when he's not yet his spirit and he saved her from the two criminal wizards.

She sat by the bed beside him and brushed his cheek. Loke doesn't say anything about being in pain but deep inside Lucy she knows it's hurting him. The blond mage lie on his side and hugged her peacefully sleeping spirit. She run her hand on Loke's golden hair then her attention was caught by his red tie. She loosened his tie 'coz she's thinking maybe it was choking him a bit. Then she buried her head on his chest and without knowing it, fell asleep with her hands gripping the handsome lion's suit.

Loke awoke after several hours of sleep and saw his beautiful owner sleeping beside him almost hugging him. He smirked at the sight, planted a kiss on her head and hugged her back. "I wish this will go on forever…" he thought.
