AN: This story does feature God, but His role in the story is more as a character. The story itself does not have a real "religious" aspect. This does not have anything to do with my religious beliefs, nor is it intended to be offensive. If you find anything here that you find offensive, please inform me.
Inspired by Karel Capek's "The Last Judgement" (that's where I got the idea of having God play a character in a story) and the phrase "match made in heaven".
Made in Heaven
The room looked like it never ended. It was enormous. It seemed to be cluttered, yet organized at the same time. Rolls and rolls of parchment were spread across countless tables; quills were strewn across the parchment, leaving inkblots everywhere. At a closer look, one would see that there were names written on the parchment, names of people. They were accompanied with birth dates, cities, schools, favorite colors, favorite music, everything right down to how they liked to sleep (side, back, or stomach). Criss-cross lines were haphazardly drawn everywhere, some crossed out and some without an ending name. They connected names of people, and upon closer studying, it was apparent that the names that went together had similar interests.
A man walked into the room. He was tall and stately, with an air of grace and wisdom about her. He seemed to radiate light and happiness, with a kind but stern face. He walked to the tables and seemed to pick a piece of random parchment. Studying it carefully, He crossed out a few lines and drew some new ones. Shaking His head, He studied it again.
"No, that's not right… Miss Aria should be with this young man here," He murmured. After making a few changes, He put down his quill and looked at the paper again.
"And that's not right either; but it did teach that young lady a lesson," He said, and drew a new line. "Ah! That's right. Now she'll be happy. Miss Weasley does indeed deserve happiness."
Smiling at his handiwork, God put down the quill and looked down at the human world below him.
The day was cool, but bright. Seventeen year-old Rose Weasley was walking to the castle, trying not to think about Drew Amadus. She knew that breaking up with him was the right thing to do; she wasn't happy with him anymore and he had broken her heart. She knew that going out with an older guy was wrong. But it still hurt to have to leave him.
She cleared her mind of thoughts and tried to just enjoy the wind and sunshine. Humming to herself, she focused on the walk. She was going to leave Hogwarts soon, and she wanted to remember every detail of it.
She was so caught up in taking in the castle and it's majestic beauty that she didn't notice the boy coming in her direction. She collided with the blond boy.
"Oh my goodness! I am so sorry! I wasn't watch- " she was quickly cut off when she saw who she had run into.
The boy smiled at her. "That's quite alright. I'm Scorpius Malfoy, by the way."
Rose's thoughts turned to that day at King's Cross when her dad had told her not to get too close to him. Shaking her head free of his warning, she extended her hand. Someone had to close the gap between the two families, right?
Something in his eyes glittered. This was going to be an interesting relationship, she could just tell.
"I'm Rose Weasley," she informed him with a smile.
-THE END-
