Title: "Slow Dance"

Disclaimer: I'm just playing in the sandbox, people.
Author's Notes: Dax may seem a little OOC, because, I haven't been watching Operation Overdrive as much as I should have. And could be considered AU because I assume that Mira was just an innocent bystander.
Summary: Mira and Dax have fallen under each other's spells.
One step there…another step there, a twirl or two…Dax's moves were just as wonderful on the dance floor as they'd been earlier In the day when he'd rescued him. Mira was both charmed and impressed by him.
"Having fun?" Dax asked as he dipped her backwards during a tango number.
"Yeah." Mira giggled as Dax pulled her close, and spun her. "You're really sweet. You didn't have to go to all this trouble, just for me, Dax."
"Oh, but…I…you know…I want to." Dax seemed almost shy now as the music changed from a lively tango to a slow number. "I…I…. I really wanted to impress you, you know…because I thought you would go out with me and then…you know…not like me…"
Mira smiled. "Don't worry…I already like you." She murmured as Dax's arms slid around her waist and pulled her close. "You're very sweet. Cute, too."
His face flushed a brilliant vermillion color as her hands came to rest on his shoulders and he began to stammer wildly.
Mira just smiled and pressed her lips to Dax's, effectively shutting him up. A few moments later, he was melting into her as the slow song continued. They pulled apart for a moment and dark eyes locked on lighter blue ones.
"You're really cute." She murmured. "I'm glad you asked me out."
His insides nearly melted into a pool of jelly at her words. "And I'm, really, really, really glad you said yes to me."
She laughed at that and rested her head on his shoulder, closing her eyes and wishing that the music and the night would last forever.
Dax was truly something special and she was going to treasure every moment of it.
