They were friends.

Harry and Hermione were friends.

That was all they ever were. They tried to tell everyone, but no one ever seemed able to grasp that they were only friends. That that was all they would ever be.

It was hard for them. There were always rumors running around about the two of them. But of course, they just ignored them.

What nobody seemed to understand was that they were only friends. They were closer with each other than anyone else. But, that didn't mean that they were in love.

They had a different kind of love. A love that no one would ever be able to understand.

Harry and Hermione were two friends that practically saw each other as family. They protected each other. They encouraged each other. They comforted each other. That's what they did.

Everyone assumed that Harry and Hermione were meant to be. But, they're all just misinterpreting their relationship.

Harry and Hermione had a bond that no one could understand. This kind of stuff wasn't something that everyone could understand. It was either: you understand it or you don't.

Except, they were friends, who didn't only go through so much adventures together, but also comforted and took care of each other.

They had a special relationship. They understood each other more than anyone else in the world.

They were there for each other when everyone else weren't.

It was them against the world.

The hugs, the kisses on the cheeks, and the eternal support. It was all strictly platonic.

They had been through so much together that they understood each other better than anyone. They were family. They were siblings,

All the pain and suffering. All the hurt and terror. All the tears and sorrow. It made them stronger. It made their friendship stronger.

Except, it was all the good times together that built the foundation of their friendship.

It was the nights they spent together, comforting each other. Or the times they joked around without a care in the world. It was the frequent nights they sneaked around the castle, just for the fun of it. And the times they would just sit comfortably in the Common Room, doing their own work in silence, and bask in the comfort of it all. But, most of all, it was the many times that they stuck by each other, through thick and thin.

That is what they stored preciously into their memories, and that is what they fought for.

Neither Harry nor Hermione were perfect, but it didn't matter in the end, because best friends are the ones that take all your flaws, and love you for it.

Harry and Hermione were the kind of friends that helped sort out each others' problems, that followed each other on unimaginable journeys, and that were so extremely loyal to each other, that they'd give up their life for the other in the end.

-A true friendship is built on the smallest, insignificant memories because you know that in the end, those were the times you were happiest.-

-A friend is someone who knows all your flaws and look past them.
But, a best friend is someone who knows all your flaws, and love you for them.-

-They had a special connection,
a different kind of love,
a complex relationship,
an extraordinary bond,
and a world of their own-

AN: I made a story about the Golden Trio, but now I decided to create a story about Harry and Hermione.

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter. At all.
