The Key

Mikan was blushing and smiling as she went back to their dorms with Hotaru. Hotaru thought Mikan was crazy.

"Oi, Baka! Are you okay?" Hotaru asked. "You're smiling like a crazy person."

Mikan looked at her best friend. "Yup! I'm more than okay!" she giggled as she remembered what happened at the party.

~Flashback~

It was the night Mikan have been waiting for. IT'S HALLOWEEN PARTY! The Academy decided to have a party for the first time for the high school students. Mikan was so excited, not because of the party, but because this is the day that she will give Natsume her 'surprise' gift. Natsume was having doubts if Mikan reallly loves him, thus Mikan came up with her gift.

'This gift will be the proof that he's the only one in my heart.' She smiled.

When she arrived at the party, Natsume was already by the entrance, waiting for her.

"Natsume!" she shouted and ran towards her boyfriend.

"You're late, Polka!" Natsume said.

"Mou, Natsume." Mikan pouted. "Don't be mad. And besides, the party hasn't started yet."

"Hn."

Mikan giggled. "Come on! Let's go inside already!" she said, pulling Natsume with her.

When they went inside, they saw their friends' sitted at the right side of the auditorium.

"Hey, Mikan-chan!" Anna and Nonoko waved at the couple. "Over here!"

"Hi, everyone~!" she said, walking towards the group with Natsume following behind.

"I'm so excited. This will be the first time we'll be doing this kind of party!"

"Yeah!" Koko said. "Let's rock this party!" Koko turned and gave his best friend, Kitsuneme, a high-five.

When night came, the party got wilder. Mikan and the others were on the dance floor while Natsume remained in his seat. Natsume got impatient and went to the dance floor.

"Ne~ Natsume." Mikan said as Natsume pulled her out of the dance floor and dragged her outside. "What's the matter?"

"Where's the gift?" Natsume said.

"Huh?"

"The gift you kept on telling me months ago!"

"Oh." She giggled. She dig up something in her pocket. "Here it is!"

She showed Natsume two necklaces. One with a key and the other one, a heart with a missing piece shaped like a key. She gave Natsume the one with the key and placed it around his neck. She then placed the other one on her neck.

"Now you don't have to worry!" Mikan smiled. "You're the only key in my heart, Natsume!"

Natsume's eyes widened. He lowered his head so that Mikan won't see that he's blushing.

"As long as you have it, you will never lose me, Natsume. No one will take me away from you, because you're the only one who can open the lock in my heart and stay in it forever."

"Mikan…" Natsume said, locks of hair covering his eyes.

"Wha-!" Mikan was cut off when Natsume hugged her.

"I love you, Mikan! I will always love you, forever!" Natsume said.

Mikan smiled and hugged him back. "Me too, Natsume. Me too…"

They broke the hug and Mikan kissed Natsume on the cheek.

Natsume smirked. "I deserve better than that!" he said as he pulled Mikan closer and kissed her full on the lips. Mikan was surprised at first, but she melted into the kiss. After they broke apart, they smiled at each other.

"Oi~!" someone shouted.

They turned and saw Koko and Kitsuneme waving at them."You two lovebirds better get inside. Its time for the slow dance."

Mikan smiled and Natsume nodded as they went inside, holding hands.

~End of Flashback~

Mikan giggled again and faced Hotaru. "It was fun night, ne~?"
