Arwen hadn't sought after me in years, but I knew when she arrived that she seeked my help.

"Arwen my elven niece what brings you to Lothlorien?"

She looked at me tears sliding down her face glistening like shards of glass. Her eyes held fear as her hands clasped my own.

"Caladwen princess of the woods, my aunt, I seek your power. Aragorn, my love, is in great peril. In a battle with orcs he has fallen. The y fought just before reaching Helms Deep. He fell of the cliff and I fear he has met death.

"How do you know Arwen?"

"I saw it when he fell, I felt the pain. He wears my Evenstar necklace my heart is within him"

"Why is it you seek me?

Arwen hesitated she was a kind elf and did not wish to burden me.

"Arand Kwantra Nin Lin Rashwe (princess tell me your trouble)I spoke harshly urging her.

"Im Estela Ten' Le A Tua Ho (I hope for you to heal him)

I looked down, saving Aragorn would take strength and possible ruin the balance of nature if Arwen wasn't my niece I wouldn't have considered it. She could sense my ambivalence so she muttered on about his family lineage, determination in her voice.

"Hush Arwen I shall help him but do not speak a word of this to mother, Galadriel lady of the woods would not approve."

With that she thanked me and set forth to return to Rivendall. Her father did not know of her choice to not ride the ships to Valinor and the journey back would be dangerous so she needed to shadow of the night.

I walked back to my room quickly packing a bunch of things together. The journey would be long. I quickly braid my long dark hair so it is behind my back and pull on my cloak tightening the elven leaf clasp. My horse can sense my urgency to leave and is outside waiting for me.

As I leave the darkness of the woods I fear my journey shall bring to me more than I bargained.
