(A/N: This is just a poem about the elves I came up with when I was bored a year or so ago. It's been sitting in my notebook for ages so I thought: hey, what the hell, why not post it? Anyway, enjoy and review)
Both Blessing and Curse
As the firelight dances
As the stars glow at night
When the Firstborn sought them
To fight darkness; shed light
------
As the sun sets and rises
As the silver moon gleams
The elves live forever
With their immortality
------
Never to face the fate of all men
Or rest in the eternal peace
Both blessing and curse, they must live on always
Their lives will never cease
------
Farewell, they cry to people
Friends, mortals, and men
You go where I can't follow
I won't see you again
------
And they walk ever on and on
As constant as the earth
Through all the ages of the world
Each death, each life, each birth
------
And yet they do not question
Why the Valar made them this way
They just accept the way things are
And enjoy living everyday
------
Never dieing, never passing
As constant as the sun
Forever, they will tread this world
United, together, as one
------
Finis
