Sweet Salvation

Are the gods in mourning?

For those who stood today, swords drawn

And died while the life still sparked in their eyes

Feeble hope still burning in their hearts

For I know I lost this battle

And I knew I would die

But what I never guessed

Was that I would miss you

Your laughter rings in my ears

Your kisses burn on my skin

Your tears fall on my face

A sweet salvation from the blood and gore

Memories come in a rush

Flood my mind's eye

With visions, fantasies and dreams

Please know, I love you

As the sun set's upon another day

I know I have lost myself

Drowning in memories

Spellbound in nothing yet everything

That will fade within a breath

Please believe me

When I say, "I love you"

If this be my last day

If peace be my last journey

Then let me wrapped in your arms

Let me hear your voice

Let me see your face

One last time

The gods are in mourning

For those who stood today, swords drawn

And died while the life still sparked in their eyes

Feeble hope still burning in their hearts

I lost this battle

I know death was so near

But what I would have never guessed

Was that I would miss you

When I say, "I love you"

Please believe me

If peace be my last journey

Then let me wrapped in your arms

Let me hear your voice

Let me see your face

One last time

Before the sun sets on this day

Let me hear your laughter

Let me kiss you

Wipe away the tears on your face

Let me know this before I die:

You'll love me enough, to let me go

Let this be a moment in time

Where I may find a little harmony

With you, time stands still

Imprinted upon my heart

Are memories forever to stay

Today I lost this battle

And I knew that I would die

Upon the blood and among the weeping

Yet you brought me peace, gave me a final place of rest

I have found a new hope to believe in

A haven to rest in

For within your heart I'll stay

A strong memory in your mind

A sweet salvation from the world
