Cold Distance
by mistress amethyst une

The first kiss numbs him from the cold.

Seven made him forget his loneliness. Suddenly, someone thought him important enough to love. He could sit on the bridge without fear of frostbite. Kathryn's coldness would hurt him no more.

The second kiss makes him forget.

He was loved. That was all that mattered, wasn't it? Slowly, his captain became a stranger to him. All that mattered was Seven.

The third kiss kills.

He finally saw the pain in Kathryn's eyes. He saw it when she caught him kissing Seven. She said nothing, only walked away. Suddenly, his heart ached terribly. But what could he do? He belonged to Seven now…and Kathryn would never lay claim to him, never meddle in his personal affairs, never do anything that she thought would make him unhappy.

The glass shard embedded in his eye…loneliness. It had obscured his vision. Kathryn was lost to him. He hadn't noticed how far apart they'd drifted. He lost hope. Tears couldn't wash away the shard in his eye. He was eternally doomed to see the world through the eyes of a lonely man. It was the price he paid for becoming captive to the power of Seven's kisses.

Always wanted to do a twist on The Snow Queen. ;)
