Once upon a time, in a small, peaceful town, there lived a boy. A joyful, rambunctious boy, who could never seem to sit still. He constantly got into mischief, whether by breaking something important, or pranking someone, or even occasionally causing a toddler revolution in the local daycare.
That is a story for another time.
Despite the trouble he caused, this boy was quite well-liked by the town. He never failed to elicit a smile from someone as a result of his pranks, though more often than not, it was the spectators who found themselves amused- the victims? Not so much.
Even so, the victims found it hard to stay mad at the boy when he flashed his enormous grin, and laughed that melodious laugh. His joyful innocence could infect even the most impervious of people, and he knew it, so the boy made it a point to practice that smile in the mirror. After a few weeks, he could now call it on demand, and get himself out of trouble handily.
Unfortunately for him, his mother, as the one who raised him, managed to develop a resistance to his angelic ways, and never hesitated to scold him for his ways. She also never punished him, though, since his pranks were never done with malicious intent, and very rarely had horribly negative consequences.
Yes, this boy had quite the enviable life, and it seemed fit to last forever.
Everything changed when Giratina interfered, and a six-year-old Ash Ketchum was pulled into the Distortion World.
This was originally typed and uploaded from my phone, and had insane formatting errors, which was pointed out to me. Hopefully, this re-upload is actually legible.
