A/N: I can't say I'm entirely happy with this drabble. It's definitely not one of my best but it was kind of fun to write. Either way, it's a Sugar one-shot because I like the character and I don't think she gets enough credit. Plus, Vanessa Lengies is adorable.

(Oh, and while I'm fairly sure Sugar is a junior, for the sake of this story, she's a senior).

She acts like the comments don't bother her. It's what her mother told her to do.

She's getting better at it. Not letting it show on her face but all she wants is to be accepted.

Oh, she knows she can't sing. She's known it for ten years but so what? It makes her happy and being rejected by the director of the club sucked. Isn't Glee Club about acceptance no matter who you are?

So, when she heard that Ms. Corcoran wanted to start a new all-girls club, she was the first one to join. Now, sure, her father may have had something to do with it but that's in the past.

Now, she's just in the New Directions because Mr. Schue had to let the Troubletones in. She doesn't know why she even wanted to be in the club in the first place. They all preach about tolerance but most of the time, they're all rude and unappreciative brats. Of course, Sugar is aware of the fact that she can be the exact same way. But she's working on it.

She quickly realizes around Valentine's Day that no one is going to ask her out by themselves. So, what does she do? She manipulates and silently issues a challenge to all of the single boys of the Glee Club. The club may act like they don't like her but when she gives all of the money needed for Regionals and invites them to a party? It's almost like they have to like her.

Except they don't. They tolerate her. What has she ever done to them?

When she first meets Santana, she tries her hardest to impress the girl. She basically rules the school and if Santana likes someone (which doesn't happen often), everyone likes that person.

Only Santana doesn't like her. Sugar says the wrong thing because she's nervous. Back-up singers for me. Really?

She talks to herself a lot. Well, not like that. She's not crazy. But she feels like she says things meant for other people's ears but instead, everyone is ignoring her so only she hears her comments. It hurts.

She finds out that Rory lied about his deportation and immediately feels used. She wishes she had chosen Artie. She also quickly learns that the quiet ones aren't always the genuine ones. While she understands that Rory just wanted to feel like someone was there for him so he wouldn't be left out, she's dealt with that since pre-school and part of her doesn't feel bad.

She thinks she was the first one to know about Santana and Brittany. She walked in on them one day and after getting an admittedly frightening talk from Santana, she kept her mouth shut.

She was happy when Santana finally came out.

Even if she wasn't ready.

By the time they graduate, she can hardly stand them. Santana is holding a graduation party for just the Glee Club and Sugar decided to politely decline. They don't try to convince her to come, which actually hurts a little even if she wasn't trying for that. She doesn't want their pity.

She plans on becoming successful, out in Los Angeles. That's where she's going. She got into UCLA and is set on trying her hand at acting while she's there.

Maybe she didn't make a lot of friends in high school. Maybe it's meant to be that way. Maybe it's the universe's way of saying that the future will only be better.
