//The unpredictable Warlord strode among his vermin, lashing out with the flat of his swordblade. "Halt! Enough, I say! We will take these creatures as prisoners. Nobeast must touch them. I will keep them as captives to serve me!" The Greatrat halted in front of Perigord. "All except you, hare. Nobeast talks to me as you did and lives!" Held fast by four Rapscallions, the Major sill struggled to break free and get at his enemy, even though he was twice wounded. "So be it, foulface. Give me back my saber an' I'll fight you, blade-to-blade. Come on, vermin, let's have at it, wot!" Damug looked Perigord up and down. Dried blook was caked over the Majors brow, covering his right eye, while the Redwall tunic hung from him in shreds, reveling a ragged scar on one shoulder. The Greatrat sneered at him contemptuously. "Your fighting days are over, fool. I'm going to make an example of you in front of your friends. Conquered beasts always learn to behave better when they see their leader executed. Get him down in front of me and bend his head! \\ He will bow to the new ruler of Redwall before he dies." Perigord stared straight ahead at Damug. "Never will I bow to the likes of you, vermin. If in your presence I should bend my head, it would be t'rid meself from lookin' at your ugly face, wot." A murmur ran through the villians, but Damug ignored it. He sneered at Perigord. "Brave to the end, aren't we? We'll see how brave you are after I've had a blow at you, longears." He beckoned the four vermin restraining Perigord. "Bring him to me." The Rapscallions brought forth the struggling Major, and forced him to his knees in front of the Greatrat. Then the one named Mudnose put his paw on the back of Perigord's neck and forced him to be bow his head. "Harrharr, Firstblade, 'ere's the bunny. Yew have fun with 'im!" If it hadn't been for the fact that the rat was holding Perigord's head down, Damug would have given him a lesson to remember. Instead he drew his blade and held it up in the air above the Major's head. There was a hushed silence from the Redwall army. They looked onward, unable to tear their eyes from the scene taking place before them. Perigord closed his eyes, knowing what the outcome of it all would be. ::Good luck to you, Tammo, keep on fighting and protect Redwall.:: Damug swung his blade down and aimed for Perigord's head. He never missed at close range.
A cry of anger, grief, and shock came from the Redwallers. They fought like madbeasts at the death of Perigord. Rushing forward they slaughtered all that they could, but were quickly outnumbered. The battle look lost, when came a cry that chilled the villains blood. //"Eulaluaaaa!"\\
A.N. The rest of the story takes place from here.but you'd have to take out any mention of Perigord in it. Just replace it with Tawnblade.or something.
