My Lifetime Crush

Ok…so I'm a new writer here at . I haven't much experience, so I could really count on your help. So this is a pairing about Kataang (A Modern AU, if you don't mind), so if you don't like this pairing, why did you click on this anyway?

Quick Note: I didn't make Toph blind here because I want her to be a friend, because if she was blind then she would not be in the same school, right? But will I still keep her ability to feel (or is it see?) people's emotions, and her ability to tell if someone's lying. And they all cannot bend, because, this is a Modern AU.

CHAPTER 1: My Life

I was born a nerd. A very smart girl and the only honor in every class I'm in. Today is the day I go to Grade 9 or 4th year High School. I stood in front of Dapple Wood School. It is the school I've been in since I was in preschool. I hate it here, though. Yes, I'm an honor here, yes, I've become a scholar, but it isn't the academics. It's the students. They don't praise me. They bully me. And trust me, it hurts a lot.

My only friends are Toph, a tough cookie, Suki, my brother Sokka's girlfriend, Zuko, a friend of my brother and my friend too, Mai, Zuko's girl, and Ty Lee, a super gymnast, and Sokka, my brother. They're the only ones who stick by me. Well, there's one last friend.

His name is Aang. But, we haven't seen each other since Grade 1, so, I'm not sure with him anymore.

I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around to see Sokka. I smiled at him, and went inside the school. I heard laughing, but I continued on anyway. I walked towards my old locker. Here in Dapple Wood School, you are assigned a locker in Grade 3 and that will be your locker till the end of the year.

I looked at my locker, Locker 2136, and saw that someone had written, NERD, on it. I sighed, why can't they just stop with the bullying? Is that too much to ask?

I banged my fists on my locker. WHY IS MY LIFE SO HARD? WHY CAN'T I BE NORMAL? WHY DO I HAVE TO BE BORN SO SMART?

Tears started to fall as laughter increased in the hallway. My ears twitched when I heard someone say, "Hey look at Mdm. Smarty Pants trying to make rain!"

I recognized it as Azula's voice. That cold hearted girl. I can't even see why she's the sister of Zuko! And yes, they are siblings, and Zuko's older! WOW!

I ran away sobbing. I ran to the only place I felt safe. The school garden, it was abandoned but I took the time to water the plants. It was safe because it's surrounded by thorns and the only entrance is covered by vines. So, for me, it is safe here.

Suddenly I heard a voice in the distance, "Are you okay Katara?"

I turned around to see…

A very old friend of mine in which I thought had gone away.
