The scene is set on the banks of the river Cherwell, the remains of a picnic lunch in a basket lie on the left side of Reverend Charles Dodgson and Alice Liddell as the camera zooms in on the two of them seated on the picnic blanket facing one another. In the background, the sounds of Edith and Lorina Liddell's laughs can be heard as they hunt minnows at the river's edge. In Alice's hands lie a brown package tied with a black ribbon.

C. Dodgson- I hope you like it, I wrote and illustrated it myself.

A. Liddell- It feels heavier than our story was, are you sure it is the same one?

Mr.Dodgson laughs and tucks a strand of the child's hair behind her ear. He looks into her eyes a brief moment before glancing back down at the package in her lap.

C. Dodgson- Of course it is, Alice. Now will you keep me waiting another two years to see your reaction or open it?

Alice carefully undid the ribbon and removed the wrapping as Mr.Dodgson watched her anxiously. Her eyes widen as she takes in the cover reading, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll".

A. Liddell- This is wonderful! Wait, Lewis Carroll?

C. Dodgson- My pen name. I thought it would be more festive than saying it was by a reverend. Do you see the similarity in our names though? A majority of the letters in your name are in my pen name, and the last two letters are L's like yours...do you see?

A. Liddell- Yes, I see. Oh how wonderful this is! The illustrations are beautiful! I always have admired books with pictures. But Alice, she doesn't look like me.

C. Dodgson- I couldn't bring myself to draw you, love. Too detailed, too erotic are the pictures that would be of you. My character must have a sweet and innocent curiosity about them. And while you possess this, there is still more to you. Do you understand?

A. Liddell- I understand I believe...the poem, am I the dream child?

C. Dodgson- Yes.

A. Liddell- I see. Why did you do this for me Mr. Dodgson?

C. Dodgson- I would do anything for you, Alice, and you asked me to.

A. Liddell- No, I mean, why is it for me, about me? Why not Edith or Lorina?

Mr. Dodgson looks over Alice with a sad expression on his face. His eyes come to rest on hers, and hers on his.

C. Dodgson- I write what I cannot have yet dream of. You, Alice, are something I want but cannot have. I am allowed imagination, and this is where it takes me, Wonderland. A place where you can meet those who torment and reside in me. The different characters you come across are characteristics of myself. Though I may have many unclean and selfish thoughts, I do try to keep my actions pure. I adore you, my dream child, but that is all you will probably ever be, is my dream child...

As he speaks, he is leaning suspiciously close to Alice. Mr. Dodgson's eyes go back and fourth from her eyes to her lips in their silence. Suddenly you hear footsteps approaching and the spell is broken as they both look to see Edith and Lorina running towards them.

L. Liddell- Oh my! Is this the book we've all been anticipating, Mr.Dodgson?

Mr.Dodgson stares incomprehensibly at Lorina as he opens and shuts his mouth a few times as if to speak yet no sound comes out. He finally shakes it off and replies.

C. Dodgson- Why, um, yes it is, my dear. You and your sisters shall have time to look it over when you return home. We must get going though, I believe your parents will be having dinner soon...
