Sasori walked along the forest, just...thinking. He often did this when he felt most alone, though today's stroll wasn't helping much. Ever since the Akatsuki had moved their base to the outskirts of Konoha, Sasori had felt the empty pain creel its way back into his heart. It wasn't an unfamiliar emotion to him though, he suffered this feeling of dull emptiness whenever he wasn't in the desert. After much discussion, Sasori had convinced Pein to move the base to the desert a few months ago. Unfortunately for Sasori, the Alatsuki changed base locations very frequently and that's why Sasori now found himself wandering the woods of Konoha. He longed for the gritty feeling of sand underneath his feet. To be under the wide open sky, exposed to the sun, was what Sasori truly desired right now.
Sasori's nostalgic, desert dreams were interrupted by a loud, familiar voice. "Sasori no Danna!" a blonde ninja called from a nearby tree.
"What is it now, Deidara?" the red-headed puppeteer grumbled. The annoying brat always managed to catch him him at the worst times. Deidara was one of the only people, dead or alive, who could always read Sasori's emotions. This bothered Sasori, of course, but he did have to admit that it was nice to have somebody understand him. He just wished that that person wasn't his partner, who he spent a great deal of time with.
Deidara jumped down and stood in front of Sasori. "Why are you out here by yourself?" he asked, but didn't wait for an answer. "Anyways, I'm starting to think all of this 'alone time' has gotten to your head, hm. You've seemed a little...distracted lately." Sasori pushed past Deidara and kept walking, but Deidara ran after him, holding up a finger. "Wait! I've got it. It's the anniversary of your parent's death, un. Am I wrong?"
At this remark, Sasori stiffly turned around, enraged. "Why the hell does this matter?!" he snapped. Obviously, Deidara was right in his assumption. Many years ago, to this day, Sasori's parents were murdered by Konoha's White Fang. What Sasori needed, today of all days, as to be left alone. Certainly not to be pestered by his partner. "Just. Leave. Me. Alone. I. Want. To be. Alone." he said through clenched teeth.
Deidara frowned. "Sorry Danna. I just figured you could use some company." the blonde sounded upset, but at the moment, Sasori couldn't care less. Deidara must have noticed this, because he walked away without another word.
Sasori sighed as he made his way back to the base. Maybe he did feel a little guilty about snapping at Deidara. Not that he would ever tell anyone otherwise, but Sasori actually did have emotions as a puppet. He simply found it easier to let on that he felt nothing in his current state.
