Title: Nineteen
Series: 21 for 21
Author: jmaria
Rating: light R, for description
Disclaimer: Mercedes Lackey owns them, Im just playing with them
Pairing: Vanyel/Tylendel
Three: score, lute, throne
Word Count: 157
Summary: He will never be nineteen again.
Notes: 21 for 21 is my insane plan to write 21 ficlets for my birthday. . . except that people on lj give me a pairing and three words.
Count: 19/21
Dedication: to _serphia_ for the characters and the three words
A/N: This is mainly a reflection piece, which is why they aren't named. Why? Because it has been so very long since I last read the Last Herald-Mage Trilogy, and at first I couldn't remember them (well, Tylendel anyway.) which is also why it is so short. Also, my first slash fic.
Nineteen
He will be in the oddest of places - places such as the throne room, and he will remember the oddest things about his lost love. It is here that he is struck with one such thought. Here, surrounded by the younger generations of the court, it slams into him. He will never be nineteen again.
He can think back, remember the caresses of his lover's fingers, the stolen kisses of first love. Feel his fingers leave invisible score marks on his flesh, can still feel the sting and bite of love-making. He can hear the sounds of the lute in the distance, and is taken back to those first precious moments he shared with the blond haired youth. This is his first love, his only love. The one who first accepted him, flaws and all.
He remembers the kisses. Trails of kisses that burned through his flesh to his very soul. It is this feeling of completion that he misses the most.
