AN: Just a little something that went through my mind. Could later be part of a bigger story, but most of my stories are classified. First story I posted here.
Disclaimer: Do not own, but I will borrow and return lightly frazzled.
The paper illustration of the human body rippled under Iruka's jabbing finger. "Any point on the throat is a disabling attack, if you apply it properly. However, head shots are most recommended, since they cause disorientation that you can use to your advantage. Body shots can be braced against or strengthened with chakra, making them useless."
A hand raised from a student near the front of the classroom. "Yes, Jiro?" Iruka's hand fell away from the figure of the human body and gestured to the boy.
"Are body shots dangerous, Iruka-sensei?" Concern was evident on his young face.
Iruka blinked. "Well, they can be, yes. It depends on how hard the target is hit."
This only made the boy look more worried. "You said head shots can make someone disoriented, but can body shots do the same too?"
Iruka's brow furrowed in a bit of confusion. "Well, maybe if hit hard enough... Why do you ask, Jiro?"
A resigned sigh. "I think my parents might be training too hard."
"Too hard? Why do you think that?" It was usually a generational tradition for shinobi to raise their children in the shinobi way, so the fact that his parents were to train hard wasn't surprising. But "too hard"?
"Well, when they go off sometimes, I overheard something about body shots, and when they came back, they were acting weird, like they were disoriented. But you said head shots cause that, but they said they were going to do 'body shots'... I don't want them to hurt themselves..."
Iruka's face twitched uncontrollably a few times and he turned away from the class quickly. Oh, the stories he learned about Konoha through it's young... Body shots... Only with the practice gained over the years of teaching did he manage to not let his shoulders shake in laughter. This may not be as good as when that Inuzuka kid asked to be trained in "doggy style" like his parents, but it was the best this week, at least. Genma would love this. Turning back to his class, his face the picture of calm and focus.
"No, Jiro, they are not training too hard. They'll be fine. They're practicing a different kind of body shot, nothing to worry about. Now, onto pressure points on the head..." The brown-haired Chuunin pointed back to the paper figure and continued, business as usual.
