So...I just visited PnF Wiki, and...I just found out Phineas and Ferb is ending soon. Another favorite show I can list as ended...and this one-shot popped in my head as I was thinking about it.
I own Marissa Flynn and this one-shot, nothing more.
Phineas wasn't startled easily. He was pretty level headed and calm even in the most dire situations. The pharmazombie apocalypse was another story. However he was quite startled when he was suddenly grabbed by Marissa who was on the verge of tears. Phineas never liked to see someone he cared about upset. Heck, he didn't like to see anyone upset. Having someone he cared about being as upset as Marissa seemed to be was a slap in the face. She was shaking, and he could see tears starting to form. Upon further notice, he could see her cellphone on the nightstand.
"Hey, what's wrong, Marissa?" he asked.
"The show," Marissa stuttered in tears, "it...it's ending!"
"Oh, I see, but why are you so sad about that? I mean it's been a good run with the show. We knew that day would come where it would be over, right?"
"But that means..." Marissa stalled, "that means I'm going to lose you now."
Phineas' eyes widened. Did she seriously think he was going to leave her just because there weren't going to be new episodes of the show? If anything this could be a good thing because she wouldn't have to worry about new canon info making her stories impossible to be canon. Such as when Tales from the Resistance had info that completely clashed with a fanfic she wrote and thought of long before that episode aired for a sequel to Across the Second Dimension. Another example was the fact in Act Your Age it was revealed that he hadn't started having romantic feelings for Isabella until high school despite the theorized hints he dropped as a kid.
Phineas failed to see how the show ending was a bad thing. It wasn't like she'd never be able to watch the episodes on Netflix or buy them on itunes or on dvd. It wasn't like Disney XD and Disney Channel would never air reruns. It wasn't like fanfics would stop or her plushes and other PnF merchandise would cease to exist. It wasn't like her imaginary portrayal of him was going to cease to exist.
"Marissa, how does the show ending mean you lose me? I'm not going anywhere," Phineas reassured.
Marissa sniffled, and she shifted her position so she and Phineas could look each other in the eyes. That smile always melted the teen's heart. Phineas gently grabbed her wrists, and he was ready to listen to her.
"Because...you're going to leave me..."
Phineas gave a small laugh, and he shook his head, "Marissa, I'm not going anywhere unless you make it so. Just because the show is ending doesn't mean I'm leaving you. You're still my sis."
Marissa's eyes sparkled, and she stared into Phineas' eyes. Phineas pulled on her arms a little to assure he was there for her, and he wasn't letting go.
"You still need me, right?" Phineas asked, and Marissa nodded, "Then I'm not going anywhere. You're my sister, and I'm not going to let something stupid as the show ending ruin that. Okay? I'll always be here for you."
"P-promise?"
Phineas hugged Marissa tightly, and she returned the gesture giving a weak smile.
"I promise."
So...that's that. Stilled crushed the show is ending (ugh I find this out just as Revenge is ending too) but Phineas is right. I still have my merch and him and all the episodes to watch over and over, so I guess that's good, and I still have othe Disney shows to look forward to. I can live with this...I can live with this...
*goes into fetal position*
Phineas: yikes, it's like me when I can't build anything...anyway, she's nowhere near done with PnF fanfics. Carpe Diem everyone!
