As he stepped through the chappa'I the first things he realized was that the Tau'ri were to advanced. Giving his Jaffa orders Apohis studied his surroundings, 'Concrete, thick glass, steel, machine sewn cloth, uniforms, projectile weapons.. These humans have advanced too far. We do not need another Tollan level race of humans on our hands."
Interrogating the Tau'ri female showed him more of what the Tau'ri were. An emerging thorn to the Goa'uld. And a potent resource for his empire. After they were suitably culled down to a more reasonable number of course. 'These humans are far too powerful.' He thought to himself watching a Jaffa being killed.
Moments later he heard alarms going off and started counting how long it would take for the Tau'ri to arrive at this room. He finished his perusal of the woman's mind her turned to the chappa'I, placing the dialing device onto the side of the gate. He ordered the Jaffa through and turned to the human who stepped into the room. Guards poured in pointing weapons at him. Showing a stern face but smiling inside he flashed his eyes and stepped through the chappa'i.
"Yes, a powerful race of humans. They will be excellent slaves after I conquer them, but not yet. I will wait a few decades. Let them unite to form a true challenge. Then I will destroy them."
A/N: It always bugged me that people said that opening the Stargate was opening Pandoras box. I don't see it that way. No one knew that Jack killed Ra, definitely not the other system lords. Earth was safe until Apophis stepped through the gate. My thoughts are that Apophis would take stock of his situation and see that Earth was advancing. They were not a threat then. But they could reach the level of the Tollan. Then they would be a threat. As soon as Apophis stepped through the gate. Earth's fate was sealed. They would have to get involved or die."
