Fay knows that one day he will have to leave them. He knows that if he stays too long, he will betray them.
Syaoran's magical powers are growing. Some day, it may come to pass that Syaoran's magical power surpasses his own. And he will kill Syaoran, because he is cursed to do so. To kill anyone whose magical powers surpass his own.
And even though he has sworn to have no feelings, he doesn't want to kill anyone else.
Ashura-ou already lies encased in crystal, his time frozen. Time which is frozen is no different from death.
Fay, the true Fay, is dead and buried. His twin is dead because of him.
He has already sinned. Twice.

To have feelings means that bonds will inevitably form.
A heart with feelings, with bonds, is a place where all roads lead only to ruin.
He is not afraid of ruin, of heartbreak.
His heart is so riddled with scars and wounds that he doubts anyone can ever hurt him again.
He doesn't do it for himself, but for them.
Because…he knows all too well how it hurts so much when the wound is still fresh and bleeding, how it hurts when the wound doesn't heal, and how it hurts even more when it does.
Because even though the mind has come up with an answer to the question the heart asks so desperately, even if the mind has accepted it, the heart cannot.
Their hearts will never accept his betrayal...
