It was very quiet outside and so peaceful. Hinata sat under a lonesome cherry blossom tree, muttering words to herself.
"I feel like such a fool. I haven't seen him for so long and I… I still can't tell him how I feel about him. Why can't I tell him?" she stretched her arm out to catch a single blossom, as it slowly fell into her hand. She lifted her head and let the pink blossoms fall and gently touch the edges of her skin. Taking a large sigh she leaned against the tree's trunk and closed her eyes.
"What are you doing sitting here on your own, Hinata?"
In surprise, she quickly opened her eyes and turned to see a young boy standing before her. Well, he wasn't so young anymore. He had grown into a handsome teenager, but he was always handsome to her. She quickly stood from where she was sitting and began to twiddle with her fingers, preventing herself from looking directly at him.
"Naruto-kun! What... are you doing here?!"
He smiled pleasantly and began to walk closer to Hinata. Her heart raced a little faster and the blushes under her eyes grew more.
"I just wanted to come for a little walk. It's great to finally come back home and see all my friends again," Naruto sat down beside Hinata as she stood. He tapped his hand on the floor, as if he wanted her to sit down next to him which she then did so.
"So, how have you been doing Hinata?" he asked.
Hinata hesitated for a moment. She was still a little nervous at the fact Naruto was sitting so cosily and closely to her. She did like it but was very uncomfortable.
"….Umm I have been… ok… but..."
Naruto's smile turned into a puzzled expression, he tilted his head side wards like a little puppy in confusion.
"What do you mean 'but'? Has someone made you unhappy? Because if they have I'll…" Naruto was interrupted.
"No, Naruto-kun. It's just that… I have missed…"
"NARUTO! Naruto come on we need to go now. We need to meet with Yamato!" a large call came from the side of Hinata. It was Sakura as she stood there waving with the preserved Sai quietly standing next to her.
"I guess I better be going now Hinata. Hopefully we'll be able to talk when I get back, ok?" he stood up and waved goodbye to Hinata, as he ran towards the pink-haired girl and companion Sai.
Hinata watched a little disappointed as Naruto walked off with his two teammates. All she could do was give a little smile as she noticed how happy he was as he goofily skipped off into the distance with Sakura pointing at him and Sai scratching his head nervously and watching Naruto fool around.
"Welcome back, Naruto. Maybe next time… I'll be able to tell you."
