Everyone sat at their desks. Danzo Shimura stood teaching math, not like anyone was listening anyway. He was a tall man with brown hair that spiked naturally. He was in his late 30's and a single father of his four children, two of which were in his class.
The front row of the class sat Iruka Umino, the only student paying attention. Beside him was his best friend, Mizuki. Beside Mizuki was Izumo Kamizuki with his best friend, Kotetsu Hagane, on his other side. These 4 despised this class because for 75 minutes every day they had to sit in a class full of seniors. Loud, annoying, asshole seniors.
The rest of the class consisted of Genma Shiranui, Raidou Namishi-Shimura, Asuma Sarutobi, Kurenai Yuhi, Yamato Shimura, Hayate Gekko, Anko Mitarashi, Shizune Kato and Yugao, when they showed up that was.
The last member was who caught everyone's attention. Kakashi Hatake had gravity defying hair that was silver and a blue eye. His other eye had been damaged in the car accident that had taken his best friend's life. This caused him to have a red eye in replace of his blue eye. He was very tall and very skinny. He also had very pale skin and a long scar bisecting his one eye lid.
Part way through the class Kakashi strolled through the door. Recently he had always been late, but still was the top of his class.
"Glad you could join us Mr. Hatake. Take your seat." Danzo said without turning around.
Kakashi's usual seat was taken so he sat at the front, beside Kotetsu. He quickly opened his book to reveal multiple calculations. Kotetsu stared in amazement as the notebook contained much more advanced things than they were learning.
"Alright, simply find what y=(x-5) (x+3) works out to then start the homework on the board. If you need help you can come talk to me. I will be giving you a test next week." Danzo explained, smiling as the class groaned.
He moved to his desk and began to work on grading. The students all began to work on their assignments until the back of the class got bored.
"Iruka! I don't get it." Izumo yelled, actually trying to do his work.
"Me either!" Mizuki whined.
Danzo chuckled then turned to his students.
"Then what should you do?" He asked the boys.
"Ask for help?" They asked together.
"Yes, I'll bring up the lesson. We can go through the questions again if you need some help after that." Danzo explained.
Danzo put the lesson up then sat back down at his desk. Mizuki and Izumo stared to work again. Danzo watched as Kakashi just stared at his textbook. He looked exhausted.
"KAKASHI! HOW DO I SOLVE THIS EQUATION?" Hayate yelled from the back.
Kakashi sighed then turned around to look at Hayate. Hayate showed him the equation from his textbook.
"Did you try to solve it?" He asked.
"Yes!" Hayate said.
"Multiply the x in the first bracket by the x and 3." Kakashi explained.
"Okay, That would be x2 and 3x." Hayate said.
"Alright now multiply the -5 by the x and the 3." Kakashi said.
"That would be -5x and -15." Hayate said.
"Now make the equation with those numbers." Kakashi explained.
"x2, 3x, -5x, -15. Okay so would it be x2-2x-15?" Hayate asked, unsure of his answer.
"Yes, good job Hayate." Danzo said.
"Yay! Now what about factoring 5x4y6+25x8y3+15x4y3?" Hayate asked.
"What is the common things in that equation?" Danzo asked him.
"5, x4 and y3?" Hayate answered.
"Good, now make the factor with what's left." Danzo explained.
"5x4y3(y3+5x4+3)?" Hayate asked.
"Good job Hayate. Does it make sense now?" Danzo asked.
"Yes, thank you! I need this credit to graduate!" Hayate said excitedly.
The front of the room all rolled their eyes.
"Maybe if you paid attention you would pass." Kotetsu said under his breath.
"Shut up you loser!" Hayate yelled.
"Asshole." Kotetsu yelled back.
"Idiot!" Genma yelled. "Do you really want to start this?"
"Gen, stop it!" Raidou pleaded.
Danzo turned to see what was going on after hearing his youngest speak.
"Want to fight us?" Mizuki yelled standing up, feeling the need to back Kotetsu up.
"I could take you. I could take all of you!" Genma yelled. "You're a bunch of whimps!"
"Genma! Stop arguing and sit down!" Raidou said.
Genma chose to ignore Raidou. He glared at Kotetsu and Mizuki.
"Bring it!" Kotetsu yelled.
"Don't worry Genma, unlike Raidou I've got your back."
Hayate said as he stood.
"Same here!" Asuma said standing.
Genma and Hayate stared at Asuma who smiled.
"Kotetsu and I can fight you and win with one eye closed!" Mizuki yelled.
"Yeah righ, you're all talk and no action. I'd like to see you even try to hurt us." Asuma yelled.
"Boys, sit down." Danzo said sternly.
"Just like you! You think you're all tough because your dad is the mayor." Mizuki yelled.
"I am tough! I don't need my dad to fight my battles." Asuma yelled back.
"Please stop." Anko said quietly.
"Yeah Asuma, Stop fighting because your girlfriend says so." Mizuki mocked.
"Boys!" Danzo said, raising his voice slightly.
"She's not his girlfriend! She's mine!" Yamato said standing up."You need to watch your mouth!"
Danzo stared in surprise as his son got involved. Yamato had never been one to worry about the things his classmates did.
"Why? You gonna hit me?" Mizuki mocked.
"No, I'm not that low. I don't need to fist fight. I can speak with my words not actions." Yamato said, making Danzo proud.
"Yamato, just sit down. You're such a whimp." Hayate said.
"Yamato just let it go. They're jerks." Anko said.
Yamato sat down and the others began to argue. Iruka stared along with Anko, Raidou and Yamato. Kakashi laid his head on his desk to ignore them. Danzo continued to yell until he got fed up and stood.
"Alright! I'm tired of all this fighting. I'm making a seating plan. You will start sitting there as of tomorrow. If I hear any complaints I will be taking this to the principal. Got it? Good!" Danzo yelled, then quieted down."Kakashi can I see you after class?"
The bell rang and everyone quickly got up. Kakashi went to Danzo and stood there.
"I was wondering your reason for being late." he said.
"I can't tell you." Kakashi said.
"Yes you can." Danzo said.
"I can't, It's personal." Kakashi quietly said.
"You can tell me." Danzo reassured.
"Why would you care?" Kakashi asked.
"I care about you Kakashi, as I care for all my students." Danzo said. "You can come to me for anything."
"No teacher really cares! They are good actors. None of you actually want to help me!" Kakashi said, suddenly getting angry.
"I'm not like most teachers. You and I both know that." Danzo said softly.
"Yeah… I guess you're right." Kakashi said, finally giving in.
"If I was a normal teacher we wouldn't still be standing here and talking, you would've ran long before now." Danzo said calmly.
Danzo watched him for a minute. He seemed to be extremely tired and in pain. Danzo figured it was either physical or emotional pain, or maybe both. He was paler than normal and his usual lazy stance wasn't there. Instead he seemed like he was going to fall asleep any moment. His eyes seemed duller and his gravity defying hair was even flat. He had always been skinny so most people who didn't spend much time with him would have over looked it, but he had lost an extreme amount of weight. He had been like this for weeks. Danzo internally got mad at himself for not doing something sooner.
"You miss him don't you?" he asked, feeling stupid for not noticing the real problem.
"I do... He promised he be home soon in his last letter. I'm lonely at home..." Kakashi said.
"If you ever need anything you know where I am." Danzo told him.
"Yes sir." Kakashi said.
"So why were you late?" Danzo asked.
"I had another doctor's appointment." Kakashi explained.
Danzo internally felt worry overcome him. Kakashi once had been his most dedicated student, that was until the accident. After losing Obito, Kakashi found himself alone and scared. He had no family, no friends and very few people he talked to. He suddenly began getting sick, something everyone over looked. It wasn't until he blacked out and dropped to the ground during his class that Danzo finally decided something needed to be done. With a lot of persuasion on Danzo's side, he convinced Kakashi to open up and even let him help. That was last year, and now Danzo knew some of the boys biggest secrets. He had thought Kakashi was getting better, but now he was worried.
"Is everything okay?" Danzo asked.
"Yeah, it was to get my stitches out. The doctor said my head healed nicely so I shouldn't have really bad migraines anymore." Kakashi said lightly.
"I told you it would all work out last year didn't I? Now get to class. I'll see you tomorrow, on time." Danzo said, relieved he was okay.
Kakashi started to leave then stopped and turned.
"Thank you Mr. Shimura." he said.
"For what?" Danzo asked.
"Everything. You've held my biggest secret and never told anyone. If anyone found out, think how they would react to it. I'd be social suicide. A grade 12, married, to someone older than me. Not that I'd care I love him more than anything." Kakashi said.
"I got married in grade 11. Though back then most of my friends were already married." Danzo told him.
Kakashi smiled then left. Danzo shook his head. The boy had a tendency to overwork himself about everything. He was so lonely that he was shutting himself away until the one he loved was home. Danzo hoped he returned soon. If not he feared the worse would happen.
