Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, fans! Here's my holiday present to you. R&R!
DISCLAIMER: I own nothing.
I pulled an arrow from my quiver and put it in alignment with my bow. I put a string of mistletoe on the tip of the arrow. Normally, something hindering the streamline of the arrow wouldn't let it reach its destination, but a fifteen-foot flight didn't have the whole world's safety resting on its shoulders, or on mine.
Pulling the bow and arrow into position, I focused on the spot above Wally's doorframe, and let the arrow fly. I rushed to put my weapons back away in my room before Wally dragged himself out of bed to investigate what had woke him up. It was our first Christmas together, and I didn't want to mess it up in the slightest.
"Hey," I said when Wally opened his door and looked up at the mistletoe hung above his door.
"It's eight in the morning. Really?"
"Yes, really. I couldn't wait." I leaned against the doorframe and noticed that he was only wearing his sweatpants; the dorky yellow ones with the red lightning bolt running down the left leg. But no matter how stupid he looked in them, my heart still skipped a beat or two when I saw his bare chest, still probably warm from being in bed.
"Is it Christmas?"
"Yes, it is. Hence my hanging mistletoe above your door."
He smiled that cute little half-smile that made me go weak at the knees when I didn't have to hold up a reputation amongst the others. He reached out with one hand to brush a strand of my long blonde hair out of my eyes and back behind my ear, his other hand on my waist. He kissed my forehead, my nose, but stopped there. I put my arms around his neck and started lifting my lips to his, but he ran back into his room and shut the door, which sent me falling to the floor.
"Wally," I hissed. "Get back out here."
"Maybe next Christmas if you let me sleep in," was the only reply.
More aggravated than ever, I jumped up and retrieved my arrow and mistletoe. "Maybe next Christmas if you let me sleep in," I mocked under my breath.
