Brooklyn Beta. The name itself can bring shivers up your spine. Brooklyn Beta was tangling with sophomores when she was in 8th grade. Johanna and I were just her little puppies who followed her around. She didn't need us, but we needed her. Brooklyn and I had been friends since 4th grade and when Johanna moved from Kansas to sunny Orangevale in the summer of 7th grade, she joined our little clique. We had others but everyone knew Johanna and I were Brooklyn's best friends. Which was quite a title to wear. By sophomore year Brooklyn had enemies in their second year of community college and minions in the 12th grade. Brooklyn had two older brothers which is how she had so many connections with the big kids. Bronson Beta was 18 when I was a sophomore, he spent many nights drunk in his room with a redhead college girl named Gigi while two girls were handcuffed to his bed. Bronson was also was very active in the beer pong community. With parties that started at 1:00 a.m and were broken up by 7:30. Now, if Bronson sounds bad, you don't even want to know about Brody Beta. He was bad news. Brody Beta was 20 when I was a sophomore, he started the year drunk and wild and ended it stoned and dangerous. He had two girlfriends, one who was a junior but when the school board found out she was seeing Brody Beta, they thought it would be a good idea for her to be homeschooled, that's how bad he was. I forget her name...it was the other girl who was the problem. Millicent Frasier. She was 18 or 19 at the time. She was mean and nasty. I think even Brooklyn was afraid of her...and Brooklyn wasn't afraid of anything. Millicent was in the middle of it...so was the entire Beta family along with others like Johanna and unfortunately me. So many people were involved in the situation if somebody had told me the whole story...which I really wanted at the time, I would have never believed them. So here is what happened when Brooklyn Beta bit off more than she could chew.
