Grave
He'd finally fucked up.
Now, Yuuichiro was known for screwing things up—whether it be during a mission or during a regular, old daily routine. He knew that his passion for killing vampires would probably get him into a lot of trouble, but he only fought through it and forced himself to work harder to show off that stubborn passion of his, leading to some love-hate relationships and some very close calls.
But this? This was a new kind of mistake. This was the worst kind of mistake.
His only goal was to kill all the vampires to avenge what they had done to his family; to his precious Mikaela. Their fateful reunion had reignited his desire to protect the blond boy from those dreaded bloodsuckers, even if Mikaela himself was one.
But then what? If the both of them ran off, how would Mikaela keep himself properly fed? Yuuichiro knew for a fact that human food was nothing to a vampire—it didn't satisfy their hunger or even leave any taste. For his closest family, he supposed he would offer up his blood to keep Mikaela alive.
He couldn't even bring himself to shake his head at the absurdity of his thoughts at the moment.
What good would plans like these do for him now?
Fat tears ran down Yuuichiro's face as he watched his best friend fall to his knees, shaky hands clutching at the blood-stained fabric of his white robes.
With eyes wide with betrayal and fear, Mikaela looked up, bloody lips trembling as he whimpered, "Wh-why...?"
There was a brief silence in which Yuuichiro couldn't find any words that would begin to explain this mistake. All he knew was that he was fueled by rage, and swung his sword when he felt someone's presence near his.
"Why, Yuu-chan...I trusted you."
He'd fucked up.
This hurt to write.
It was basically written by my best friend, Shirai, who had decided that breaking my heart and writing such tragedy would be okay, and I simply added details and some of Yuu's possible thoughts. She wrote the confrontation at the end, I wrote the rest.
