"I can't hear the rain anymore…" What an odd, abrupt thing to mention, Roy thought. He looked down at the violet-eyed one in his arms. Only Garth would notice something like that.

"Yeah, I guess it's finally stopped." The other looked back to him.

"Pity." The two then relaxed back into their comfortable embrace.


"I can't hear the rain anymore…" The redhead looked up from his book.

"Yeah? So what? That's a stupid thing to say; I was almost asleep," complained the woman beside him. It was years past the funeral and he was left with just memories and this woman—the one that he had married, just so he wouldn't be alone, just so that he could pay the bills, just so that he wouldn't have to deal with that silent apartment…

But she could never get it. No one else could. It would only ever make sense to the two of them...Roy put out the light and closed his eyes, still seeing the loving violet eyes that would ever haunt his mind. A bittersweet smile came to his lips still.
