Forever
Grass tickling her bare legs as she walked, Cosmo lifted her gaze upwards towards the evening sky. The sun was setting and night was about to take over. The brilliant ball of fire in the endless ocean above painted the sky with its evening colors, portraying beautifulness.
As Cosmo trekked, the grass and flowers danced in the symmetric wind that blew gently. It caressed Cosmo's skin and brought a serene smile to her lips. Humming beatifically and joyfully, the plant took a seat upon the lush grass. After that, she decided to study the stunning sky once more.
Night was arriving quickly, the moon pushing the sun out of the sky and painting the blueness of the ocean into a dark black. It was truly fascinating, watching the night take over. Cosmo always liked to watch it happen.
"Cosmo?"
Looking up, Cosmo could see Tails peering down at her with curiosity coloring his facial features. Cosmo simpered and waved at the fox. "Hello, Tails." Cosmo greeted him, her voice tranquil and calm.
"What are you doing out here all alone, Cosmo?" the fox wanted to know, sitting down next to her.
"Relishing in the wonderfulness that nature has to offer." Cosmo responded through a pleasant sigh. She allowed her eyes to flutter shut as she enjoyed the soft breeze against her. Even though night was coming soon, the weather was perfect and just right.
Tails seemed to be intrigued by her response and he asked, "Really?"
"Yes."
"Well, that's nice." the boy caterwauled.
"Yes, it is."
Tails turned his attention to Cosmo, gently taking her hands in his and giving them an affectionate squeeze. "Cosmo, can I ask you something really important?"
"Of course you can, Tails," Cosmo answered, becoming very interested in what Tails had to say. All of her attention was now on him instead of the nature surrounding them. "What is it?"
"If we had forever, would you spend it with me?" the intelligent fox questioned, hope shining in his eyes.
A smile played on Cosmo's lips and she nodded her head. "I would spend every second with you, Tails, if we had forever." She moved closer to him.
Tails pulled her into an embrace and pressed a kiss to her cheek. "Thank you, Cosmo…"
"You're welcome, Tails."
