Under The Stars

Just a little Neville/Luna fluff one-shot during the war.

Disclaimer: this brilliant world belongs to Jk Rowling

A girl with a petite frame and wild blonde curls exited her common room with a note in hand.

Luna, meet me in the Astronomy Tower at midnight, I have something to show you.

There was so name. As Luna Lovegood walked up the twisting staircase of the Astronomy Tower, her prominent, silvery eyes caught sight of a shadow, pacing back and forth. She assumed, in her second-dimension mind, that it was the mysterious person who sent her the note.

"Hello?" Luna asked as she made her way to the top step. The mysterious man jumped about twelve feet in the air, and as he turned around, Luna caught sight of the classic printed cardigan, stubble-clad face, and hazel eyes of Neville Longbottom.

"Merlin! Luna, you scared me!" he shouted.

"Shhh! You'll wake the other people in Ravenclaw. Our common room is right below this." Luna whispered. "What did you need to show me?"

Neville looked at the gigantic Hogwarts clock tower. It was 11:59. He was about to do something that was the bravest thing he's ever done. And, though he does not know it this would be the first of many brave actions that will put his name down in history.

"lie down, Luna." He said, indicating a blanket he spread out on the tower's platform. Both he and Luna lie down next to each other. Neville did his first brave action, and took her hand. His heart was pounding, but, much to his surprise, she squeezed his hand back. The clock struck twelve. Neville took a deep breath as both he and Luna, both holding hands, gazed up at the open-domed ceiling of the Astronomy Tower. Just as the clock struck its final chime, a brilliant shooting star flamed across the already starlit sky, filling the horizon with a soft, moonstruck glow.

"make a wish" Luna and Neville whispered to each other at the same time.

But, also simultaneously, a thought hit them:

What's to wish for? I already have everything I could have possibly wanted.

Aww! So, there you go. Just a bit of fluff, I always think fluffies are the BEST for Nevilluna.
